Ahhh... nostalgic. I saw this back around 1994 when I was first introduced to anime. This one and the one where Ranma sings a duet with him/herself are my favorites... oh and the Kodachi one (bahahaha).
the song had a very relaxing appeal on me, if nobody had told me what the lyrics are about i wouldn't have noticed that it's actually about a sad story.

Omg, I've been trying to look for this song! I've always seen the title as "Wodo Airen". Well anyways, I kinda thought Shampoo was annoying and that Akane and Ranma belonged together. But when I first heard this song back in the day, I loved it as soon as the intro started. I felt SO sorry for Shampoo cuz the melody, the title, and the lyrics made it sound like she truly did love him though he feels nothing for her =( Thank you so much for uploading this!
This is the official video for this song, all of the pictures were made for it. I can't say why the animators made most of it black and white however.

Well, *that's* interesting. I haven't seen much of the anime since I prefer reading manga.
In the manga, Happosai claimed they had a relationship but that he was forced to leave in order to complete his training or something.
According to Cologne, though, he basically pestered her and the other amazons and when she wouldn't date him he got upset, stole a bunch of artifacts, and left.
Cologne's story is treated as the real one, but I always kinda suspected there was more to it then that.

The song is Japanese with chinese senteces inside.
Shampoo is a Chinese girl in the Anime RANMA 1/2 so that's why you see so much Chinese things, but the Anime itself is Japanese
First it says something like: "It brings forth tears, love is heartbreaking".
Then:"aah, But I love you".
The last thing is chinese, and I think it's "beloved husband"
.
Means "My Beloved"
It actually means "My Love Person" which can easily be changed to "My Beloved" or "My Lover".

The title of the song is in chinese, but it's Japanese. I don't know the series, I want to see it so bad! I keep getting this song in my head, but it's okay, I love it. (I am learning Chinese and Japanese) both languages and cultures are great!

I've seen this anime ^-^ but don't think I'd use the word "pure" to describe Shampoo, ha..
Then again, the generally mean or harsh treatment the characters had for each other was a big part of the humor and irony in the show. It wasn't just her in any way from that perspective 😅 (it was almost all of em)

This song .... The title are a chinese words " Wo De Airen " because Shampoo are from china yet the song are totally in japanese except for two phrases in the song that are chinese words such as " Wo De Airen " - My Beloved and " Wo Ai Ni " - I love You ....
Ok found it. This song is from an AMV never released outside Japan called Ranma 1/2 Nettou Utagassen or Ranma 1/2 Hot Song Contest. Watch the whole thing, or as many vids as you can find for it. The whole thing is right hilarious.
