I always feel weird and bashful trying to sell my resin crafts. I usually give things away as gifts but feel odd about trying to sell items. Does anyone else have this problem & if so how have you overcome it?
Pop your art on the local Facebook marketplace. I did last year at this time with a few examples.. I put a couple pieces that had names & personal pics (with permission) and I had calls within the day!! A nice gentleman said ‘Omgoodness I have been looking for you for a long time. I need a couple cups for my brothers & I at a football game!!’ He told me the team colors & sent me some photos. I made a design in Cricut design space and explained to him that it would be wrapped around, glittered etc.. sent him the actual computer screenshot lol It was so scary until we started texting/talking & then I realized I knew my stuff. So do you! Do it soon bc Christmas is the best time to get some people in. Valentines is another good thing. If your items aren’t ready, do that last step or two & post them! I say that bc I’m always leaving the last thing for ‘someday’ ..we’ve prob all got lots of nearly done projects we can sell. And as another thought.. I did not have fancy bags or bows. I used what I had bc they’re going to re wrap it up anyways. All that can be done later, if ever 😂😂 ~~Post your art. There’s always haters.. but some people love handmade art!
Yes but I feel like it's not good enough n have no clue what to charge or im afraid no one will buy my stuff. Everyone tells me I should sell my creations n the try to encourage me but I still don't. Idk, but you are not alone. Lol Oh and I make everything along with resin also. It gets really expensive n I jus give it away. Smh
I've been making resin and wood pieces for years and I was running out of room to store them, I finally just did a market with them and sold bugger all but went back the next week anyway and sold a few items and so then back the next week and sold even more and now I have a few people wanting personalized items, you just gotta put yourself out there and try.
I feel the same way about selling my resin items but I had my niece ask me to make her something and I did. She loved it so much that she payed me extra and who is going to say no to extra cash. Lol 😆 I had made some earrings and necklace and my other niece bought them, when I said for you 30 dollars and she said heck no and gave me 60.
You know what would be a nice add-on sale? Custom made matching coasters. They would only take you a few minutes to make, and would be a very high perceived value item.
That table came out gorgeous Steve and the black edge and legs really set it off, once you added the resin it just came to life! Being one of a kind definitely makes it worth the price tag. Personally I thought it was worth more than you sold it for. It's really stunning! God bless you Steve and all those you love and I hope you have a great weekend!
What a cool technique, I love leafing. They have it in colors now too. You might just have to make one for yourself, it goes great in your living room!
It's very pretty. Love the shiney! You could make a version with farie lights resined around it too. Hide the battery pack underneath. I like the rug too.
I am wanting to cover a table top with olive shells in a herringbone pattern and have been researching the right resin for months. The shells are about 1/2 inch deep, so since you had a good experience with this resin, I will make sure it can handle that depth and give it a try. I don't plan on leaving much of a gap between shells, so I think it will work?? Thanks for doing all the experimenting for me again Steve!
Steve, thank you so much for putting out these videos. Because of you, I tried the JDiction uv resin and I'm never using anything else. Omg. You're the best. 😭🥰
Turned out great! I covered a wire spool table with diecut paper (the edges look like lace) and used resin to cover and it took a lot of patience... and resin (i didnt want to fill the gap between the boards on top so you could still see them through the resin and it took so much resin to fill them in). I love seeing what you make!
Doggie! ❤ What a pretty dog, Steve! 😊 Glad you let him/her photo bomb us. Made my evening, it did. 🤗 That table is gorgeous! Congratulations on getting another commission for more! 👍 Mmmm, you know what might look cool on those tables? Some gorgeous, iridescent black coasters with gold and/or silver flakes placed sort of like what you've got there. First layer super thin clear just to hold the flakes in the pattern you put down, then a yummy black background! 😊
okay i did watch your video truly amazing. What does 85 day hardener mean i am new to the resin arts and am curious?? Mind you i am abit older so any and all info is greatly appreciated..
At what point would move away from the tabletop resin to a deep pour? I am preparing to do a table top with some small pieces that I have poured using leftovers and have been collecting. I am going to set them in the bottom and pour clear over them but I am not sure if it's too deep for a regular table top resin and would require deep pour instead. Or should I do deep pour up to near the top and finish with the table top? It's my first big project and I want to get it right.
I like it about 90%. I might as well be honest. To me I feel it needs something more, maybe sparklng flakes of red or blue outside of the gold leaf. But that's me.
I have never worked with wood of any kind, so what did you put around the edges? This looks really nice and I would really love to try it but I don't know what you put around the edges? Thanks in advance for your answer
I always have the problem of under selling myself… guess in the back of my mind I’m worried about asking too much and not selling anything but I don’t want to go too cheap yet I always seem to..
$125 sounds pretty low, honestly - I was expecting it to be bit more. I’m glad you made a good profit, and the customer got a great table at a great price! It’s lovely!
Thank you for the content STEVE! I have a question, when it comes to letting your resin sit in warm water you’re saying do it for a half hour but other professionals like yourself are saying 10minutes have you experimented with only10 min?
That is beautiful! I still have yet to make a table... even a smallish one like that. I watch one channel that makes huge tables that sell for 10k or more... I am so not ready to go there. 🤪 I had thought maybe I could make it less intimidating and start with doll house resin tables but really... does anyone even use dollhouses anymore... ? - Heidi
Hey Steve, I had a beautiful 3 drawer desk made for me for my nail tech business. But because it’s raw still., can I paint this resin on the top to give me a toughened surface to work on. Remembering of course that I will be using acetone and alcohol. Not that I plan on spilling anything but accidents happen. Thanks in advance BJ🇦🇺❤️ Oh it’s pine btw
Would this resin cure as solid if you use a deeper mold. Like a large yogurt container? I'm making a staff with led lights and want to resin the lights in a gem at the top of the staff. Sorry if you've explained this before. Just new here and DEFINITELY subbed. Cheers from BC Canada.
Hi Steve bought a levelling board but having problem getting it to Level. It looks Level with the bubble but when I use a spirit Level to double check it says it is way out. Any ideas please?
I’m an old woman trying to learn resin to make gifts for my grandchildren. Like maybe a dragonfly one or some flowers. Can anyone break down in simple terms what resin to buy? And how to mix it to cover things in?
nice i think the frame is not visually helping the design..use a lighter wood frame, similar color to the design color..lighten the frame it takes away from the overall design...and change the legs lighter as well. or dont have any frame...?
Hmm not how I would do it . Being honest the end result looked like a upcycled product I think I would of sanded the surface of the wood or used a better grade to get a nicer finish but saying that it looks good and customer was happy so what more do you want 🤷

I'm the same. Been making resin items since 2020 and I have hardly sold any 🙈🙈🙈
i’m with you , i make loads of resin pieces , but never have the confidence to sell them and put my name to it , i feel inferior to other people xx

Simple but elegant artwork!!

Beautiful table, Steve!!!L
Beautiful. I'm trying to get into this myself. I love how your creativity comes through. Love from America.
Beautiful table. I liked the gold going through the silver.
Gorgeous table!
I love, love your rug under table, orange IS my color. And table is super beautiful.
What a cool technique, I love leafing. They have it in colors now too. You might just have to make one for yourself, it goes great in your living room!

That turned out wonderful! Simplistic, but very beautiful. I love it!
Turned out amazing & beautiful!
Wow!absolutely stunning!

I like it alot its very pretty
Oh that’s beautiful!
I also do wood burning and tend to undersell myself on it too
Wow love the table.
I love this table, like you say so unique. I’m not surprised they wanted more. 😊
Thank you. ( just a tap a beginner trying to learn about the different types of resins/ uses) Australia.
That table is really good

Looks fab!
Brilliant!❤️🙏🏻
Beautiful! How did you make the boarders?
Hi Steve love the table 😍 great work, thanks for sharing ❤️ xx
Love your tutorials

This is lovely. How do you add a beaded edge?
Same question here. Thanks
I like your art very much and would like to know if you sell your pieces and where I can get them. Thank you!🙏🥰
Very cool!
Can we do epoxy over a Formica countertop? I’m very nervous about it!
I like it about 90%. I might as well be honest. To me I feel it needs something more, maybe sparklng flakes of red or blue outside of the gold leaf. But that's me.
How did you add the edging around your plywood Steve?
Wondering the same thing.
Awesome 👌

Very nice
I’m confused as to how you put the edge on?
I always learn something from your vids. Have a cup of coffee on me.
I think that’s a good price. Less than I was expecting. It’s not my cup of tea but really nice. Tfs
Nice!
Beading? With convienient 45° angles?

$125? That's cheap. Keep up the good vibes and love your work!
Really £100 for a bit of ply...and some £20 cheap pin legs... looks like a school project.. poorly finished ,watch it again.
nice i think the frame is not visually helping the design..use a lighter wood frame, similar color to the design color..lighten the frame it takes away from the overall design...and change the legs lighter as well. or dont have any frame...?
Meeee to!
4:08 or press "5" on your number pad....you're welcome
That’s actually cheap for a quality built table, $135 isnt bad at all
Hmm not how I would do it . Being honest the end result looked like a upcycled product I think I would of sanded the surface of the wood or used a better grade to get a nicer finish but saying that it looks good and customer was happy so what more do you want 🤷
❤
👍
Sorry, but it looks like a school craft project. I'm amazed people would pay for that.
Poorly finished edges and rough painting.
You could definitely charge $200
Is this a joke?
