why do you dye the trap, know one has ever said why
I believe new traps are a silver shiny color. So dying them black helps conceal them from the animals youre trying to trap.

For the wax, can you use beeswax?
i'm sure you can, i just use trappers wax as it is not as expensive
To my understanding bee's wax carries a sent that trapper's wax doesn't.
Paraffin is cheaper and has no smell.
Why not just add the wax before you remove the traps in the first place?
Never tried that before so I am not 100% sure, on that Something to try
That is how I do it. Add wax at the start and just pull them out once.
