Great to know for use in flintlocks! Can you maybe do another video addressing how one can approximate the 1-4 F consistency for flintlock rifles and smoothbores, and even in pistols? I am working on a Mark Silver rifle kit from Jim Chambers and love the idea of being able to be almost totally self-sufficient with it! Next will be a Tulle Fusil de Chasse! Thank you for the great information!
theres a cross hammer safety in that hr shotgun and if he loaded it without the primer then he would spill the powder out the bottom and cause a void in the chamber causeing an un equal pressure spike making his shotgun a pipebomb
6:1:1 is easier to measure for large quantity. Use weight not volume. A little less than 1 for sulfur and a little more than 1 for charcoal.
Excellent 😃👍👍👌🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸!
cool video.. first time i've seen black powder made...
Yes you can Darrell
The urine adds Ammonia, which in turn makes the black powder fire a bit hotter, but it's not necessary.

You might enjoy this. Includes answer to your question about how to get a 4F granulation.
🤠👏👏👏, I imagine the 'stale urine' thing is all about adding ammonium/nitrogen to the mix too👍
is it enough powerfull for black powder gun?
Could you list the material pleaseee? My english isnt that good at listening ¡
Sulphur.
Charcoal.
Saltpeter = potassium nitrate
You know when someone is a real survivalist when the FEDS are taking lessons from the plane above. 6:40
Very cool. Is that a New England Arms Shotgun? What adaptor?
Lewis Ward yes NEF gun and a 209 shhotshell primer adapter from short lane arms.
Can BP made this way be used to reload 28 gauge shotgun ammo.?
@Thane Mac
I'm thinking Darrel is a democrat.
@Thane Mac Good thinking!
Nope. Modern ammo uses a different formulation - “smokeless powder”
good deal old linkless will write this down
More charcoal
Not being unkind but you must be insane to load the gun with the cap in place

Does it matter on the name of sulphur and salt Peter. Some told me to use stomp killer. But what type of wood for charcoal im limited here in pa
How good would that way you made it for flintlock muzzleloader. Would it go off fast in the pan. Or would you have to Puck it and stuff first
