- Keanu Reeves talking to a group of fans who approached him about his custom-made ARCH motorcycle in Malibu. The "Matrix 4" star appeared in a great mood talking about the motorcycle which was co-designed by him and longtime bike-builder Gard Hollinger.

I met Keanu about 16 years ago at the premier of the Matrix movie in NYC. I worked at the movie theater as a cleaner and server. The entire night, I saw all the stars in the movie come and go without any of them looking at me or saying hello to me, perhaps because of my color and the cheap uniform I had on. For 16 years, I have never forgotten the event that will follow the first few hours after I begun my shift at work that evening. Keanu walked up to me and asked me how I was doing!! I said to myself "are you really talking to me?" Believe it or not, he actually came up to me and showed compassion and care. That was the last thing I ever expected anyone to do that evening. He proceed to ask me about my job and where I come from. And I told him I was from Ghana and have been working at the theater for about a year. He chatted with me for about 5 mins but it felt like forever. He then gave me a hug I will never forget. He is truly a good human being. I don't usually leave comments on YT but this is to confirm this video. Keanu is good.

I keep talking to people whilst wearing my helmet. I'm an elf. I ride Rudolph 1000RR.
I like the distance they keep. He does nothing to keep them at bay, but their respect shows in the way they stand back and give him space. And meanwhile he's smiling, talking, reaching out to them. He's doing nothing to push them away.
My guess is that people from the US, and particularly from that area, are very aware of the way celebrities of that level are treated and how easy and fast it can get uncomfortable for them, or even dangerous. So they are sensitive folks in that regard.

I had the chance to meet Keanu here in New Orleans during the summer of '95. He was touring with his band Dogstar and my then girlfriend and I (along with a few other friends) went to the show at a small club. Somehow, she and another girl in our group were able to get us backstage after the show and we spent a good 30 minutes or so chatting with Keanu and had a beer with him. I got some pics with him, he autographed my ticket stub and hat. Such a down to earth person and one of the nicest people that I've ever met in my life. He is a national treasure.

As a child I never understood my mother’s obsession and respect for this man, as an adult I do. Fame didn’t change his character, soul, or integrity. Keanu is humble, down to earth, genuine, arguably the best celebrity in Hollywood today. My mother told me when I was a kid that anytime he goes out to eat he makes origami’s out of $100 bills and just leaves them on the table. I firmly believe this. A genuine good guy I met him in NYC walking down the street stopped to chat with me and my friend he told me he just finished filming a movie called JOHN WICK and that he hoped it would do well.Wow.still remember it as if was yesterday
The best way to talk to a celebrity is to just talk to them about one of their interests, not showering them with compliments about acting and how big of a fan you are. Treat them like normal people and they'll appreciate it much more.

I met Rush bassist / vocalist Geddy Lee at a book signing a couple of years back, and most fans were all telling him the usual : “I love your music.”, “I play in a band because of you”, etc. But knowing that he’s a huge baseball fanatic, I asked him a question about the Blue Jays (his home team), and he looked right at me and give me a very genuine, descriptive, and enthusiastic response...in fact, an even longer interaction than he was giving to most of the other fans. It works.

Met him once on the Old Pacific Highway north of Sydney back when he was here shooting the Matrix. He had a HD Fatboy and he was riding the "old road" up to Max's Cafe, just like every other biker in Sydney on a Sunday. There were probably 150 bikes there, and he hung out and talked bikes just like the rest of us.
Having a person like Keanu living on this planet gives us all hope. What a humble and fantastic guy he truly is.
