I have seen this ship come into the Duluth canal many of times. This was so beautiful. ❤❤❤. To the crew members and Capt, we love you and be safe out there.
This is one of my top ships to see in person. Almost got the opportunity the last time I was in Duluth, but I had to leave a few hours before it arrived, because the drive home is a minimum on 9 hours.
I have sung this song in church,& I've been to Duluth twice, the first time,it took about 3 seconds to fall in love with it.What a cool, indescribable vibe it has.The recent passing of Gordon Lightfoot only adds to the poignancy.Thank you for this video.God bless.
Very touching video. Grew up in Michigan, and seeing the video's and hearing the ships brings a bit of home to me wherever I am. God Bless All who travel the waterways.
The fact you can hear the pipes over everything is insane. He's a good piper too, it's a difficult instrument to master! I bet his crew mates told him to bugger off to the deck with that lol
Just seen the wilfred in early august when i was staying at a motel in rodgers city, it was anchored just off shore due to a massive storm rolling through the lakes
My first thought was; "Good bye forever". Im not Irish, but Ive only heard that played at funerals. (On bagpipes, on t.v.) So I associate it that way. Sorry. I hope Im wrong and they come back, and that wasn,t an omen for that trip.😢,
Everything about this video is beautiful. The water, sky, ship, salute, and bagpipes. Glad you got it all. Perfection!
Thank you very much!
His crewmates probably said "Jerry, take that outside!"
OMG that's what I was thinking, When my kid was learning the trumpet I so wish we had a ship like this for him to practice. LOL
Magnificent lady of the lake. May you forever be respected and valued. May you sail gently and kept well.

Omg that brought tears to my eyes!! The salute and the bagpipes are both exemplary!! Thank you for the video. It's magnificent!
You are very welcome 🙏
Beautiful video, love the classic “old-school” profile of the Wilfred E. Sykes.

That's my issue too i'm twelve hours away!
So easy to see why Dud Pacquette loved this boat. It’s in a class by itself.
They should have played this for the farewell of the Roger Blough
That was just plain awesome!👏
A great tribute!
Not just for the Edmund Fitzgerald, but all who have never made it home.
God rest your souls 🚢🫡
🙏😔💐
Amazing, haunting, and beautiful. God Speed Wilfred Sykes, may the winds of the Lakes treat you gently.
Thank you Sir.

Poor guy out on deck playing. Is that where his ship mates banished him? LOL.
I hope he knows about Amazing Grace.
So cool
That is cool
Where was The Sykes at this point? Blue Water Bridge?
Yes Sir! Just a little before the bridge!
Anyone know why they were playing that?
Someone has pasted away.
Why was he playing amazing grace?
Another sailor had passed away on another ship.
@@captainmack2754 damn
What cargo are they carrying?
Empty.
Ballast water.
🥲
Awesome video with a salute and hearing the bagpipes.
Thank you Sir!
