Bought this reel as Christmas present for myself back in October. Finally fished it on my bachelor trip in south TX. Let me tell you it was worth the wait. I have many high end reels that and this one takes the cake.
Could you please compare the Hundo to the Zillion SV TW 103. I have the Zillion & love it except for the way the finish scratches so easily. They cost about the same, so if the Hundo is better or the same casting , I’d like to try one. Does anyone have experience with both?
As an engineer, having threaded yoke posts seems to be a bad choice. The added manufacturing to do a thread and tap on for member that sees no bending, twisting, or axial loading is wasteful. Additionally, if damaged or stripped it would likely be more expensive and difficult to fix.
@@fishing_reps I doubt there will ever be much of an issue since it sees no loading. I'd think the only time it would have an issue is when someone is disassembling the reel. Are both the post and the tapped portion aluminum?

You fixed my Bates Reel! It’s a small world. I sent it in for a warranty fix and your card was in the return box 👍
Awesome breakdown and review!
Rad … appreciate the vid and insight… truly a wealth of knowledge
Very very impressive ! My reels will go here ! 👏
What are those bushing sizes you would replace on the drives shaft and worm gear?

Treavor what is your favorite reel?

We will definitely be keeping on eye on the yolks posts but so far not one Hundo sold and used has had an issue with that part.

Is it supposed to click when you pull drag
Yes it is. There is a mechanism on the drag washer that makes a clicking sound when the drag is pulled.
What does the spool on this reel weigh?
Hello, I just got the Hundo a few days ago. The spool weighs 10gm
I f hate Shimano reels screws, it strip so bad. I try every tool kit can't find the perfect screwdriver
This is not meant for salt water use... They sell Salty model for that... mzybe u shoukd strip that reel too
We did. It's in our other video on this channel. We do use this model in saltwater and it holds up very well BTW.
Nice, if you did this once a week, you would be in the $$ in no time
