Well, the mere fact that kpop idols now can write, compose and produce their own songs is all because of him. They owe it to GDRAGON coz he proved to everyone that kpop idols are not just singing and dancing kens and barbies but a real talent.
I think kpop can’t do what GD or Big Bang does because they need UNITY within the group that’s why they focus on the group dances where in Big Bang all 5 guys can be separate highlights wether by looks, by voice, by charisma since none of them overlap. We VIP know that the worst synchronized dance belongs only and forever to Big Bang, their color is too strong individually but that doesn’t mean they miss the beat, or get it wrong, it’s just that their body lines are all different all the time 😂

Lyrical translations cant really do ji’s lyrics justice. So much of it gets lost in translation. Part of the reason why he’s considered a genius among the korean public is because he’s lyrical genius. So many hidden meanings we can’t decipher unless we know all the ins and outs of hangul.
