Ok - turn on the unit, let it spin for a couple of minutes. Then turn the dial to 180 and give it about 3 minutes (it's about a 5 min warm-up/start up.) Leave it at 180. (I have no idea why he keeps playing with the dial!) Once it's warm add the sugar, the first portion or two might take a minute to come out, but after that the portions should fly out. But use the scoop, don't over-fill the top as he did. Hope that helps. :)
My dad was a rep for a major food company. I was sold into slavery to help him with his many company sponsored "carnivals". Cotton candy was one of many fun foods I learned to prepare. A few things I saw here deserve comment. We would run the motor, switch on the heat, and apply a spoonful of sugar mix. When it was coming up to temp, the mix would start coming out. At this point, wipe the inside of the bowl with a damp paper towel. This will make the candy stick to the bowl, instead of flying around. The dampness and timing require some practice. Add the mix to the full mark. Let the candy build up. We would get a full serving, on a paper cone, with one lap around the bowl. Hold the cone vertically, get less on your hand. Do it outside. You will get covered in cotton candy, no way around it. Good luck.

Ben Winter This video was made back in 2012. If I could Reboot this video like a movie and make a new one, I would. I would've spun the candy so good around the sides, that you would have already melted from how much cotton candy that can produced from one stick. Unfortunately, we no longer carry this machine or the guy in this video. Sad, but that is how reboots most likely go.
No. As you use the machine you will get a build up of sugar on the sides. This can get into your floss and make it gritty and course. Wear gloves and use your hands to shape.
You should point out the mistakes you made regarding the volt meter. You called it not only volts, you said degrees (4:53) and even watts (5:18). and later you kept referring to it as temperature (8:52), you actually did it several times. This is a pretty giant mistake. Wattage is the result of amps multiplied by volts. Voltage is the measurement of the force (pressure) of the electricity. The same concept as water flowing through a hose. Those were some pretty big mistakes, and you should point that out, because it is incorrect. and even in your text you called it temperature. it is not a temperature gauge. it's a meter showing how much electricity is going to the heating element, which in turn affects the temperature.

Yes you can use normal sugar. I've been making floss for years... regular sugar works just fine. And yes, you can crush up hard candy to mix in. Works great.
Your machine is missing a piece. There is a mesh belt that clamps inside the tub and it helps to catch the floss. This keeps it from flying out of the machine.
Sassy Cat- This is not that type of machine. This is a machine that the sugar floats upwards and not spins against the sides of the bowl. I have both and this type of unit id the best because you can change flavors after each cone! The ones with the big bowls take time yo use all the sugar and you can't switch up easily without blending sugars. I have several machines and I like this type the best.
Amy Kong you can buy those from Amazon. I purchased mine from eBay. I really love these machines because you can use back to back flavors and you don't have to waste a bunch of sugar. Amazon has them. The Vortex is one. Vortex cotton candy machine.
Thanks man. You saved my bussines with this video. I should send you some monry. Very grateful. I was wondering, why does all the sugar sticks to the wall, burns and no strings. Thanks man 😇🥳❤
If a lot of sugar is hitting the wall, then your temperature is too high. If you get just the right temp,it will become hard again before it makes contact with the wall. If the temperature is too high,it will still be liquid by the time it reaches the wall. Some machines are made to gather the floss from around the bowl, while others "like the one in the video" are made to blow the floss upwards above the head unit. Not to talk bad about him, but this video isn't actually good for getting information on running one well. If the head has slanted fins, like a propeller, you gather the floss above the head. The best way is to turn the machine on,let it spin up,then turn the temperature up,wait for it to heat up,and add sugar, find the correct wattage where it is just barely hot enough to create floss, any hotter will cling to the bowl, normally the temperature setting will be fairly high in the start, but once it starts creating floss you need to turn it down. Unfortunately the heat is slow to change when you adjust the wattage,so it may take a few minutes to find the sweet spot. I bought one a few months ago just like this one,and they work much better if you do it as I said, and not as this video says. I hope this helps. Good luck.
if you are selling this you must know that a plastic netting around the inside of that bowl is very important as it catches the strings from whipping out of the side of this machine as I saw on many other demos
this is a completely different machine than the one your thinking of bruh. These type of machines are literally designed for the cotton candy to shoot upwards so you can catch it directly on the stick & make flower shapes etc ( just lookup cotton candy art on youtube)
Why isn't the floss coming out through the sides and collecting in the bowl. I never seen cotton candy floss coming out through the top but if that's the case why need a bowl?
GvR Wang Hello, I do apologize, but we no longer sell this item in our store. Our manufacturer has decided to stop making these. Works better if you turn the power on, let it sit for 2 minutes, turn the heat on, wait 5 minutes and then pour the sugar in. Because the machine is hot, the sugar will melt and spin faster.
Ummmm no. I would not follow this guys directions on these machines. You turn it on and let it heat up first, than add the sugar and go to town. Why would you pour in enough to make 2? That's dumb. Use the scoop to make 1, you get a nice larger size. And if you would spin it right, your cones would look a LOT better. As for cleaning, you don't wait till it's cooled down. You grab some water and dump a tiny bit inside the same place you put the sugar. The water turns to steam which cleans the inside out. Instant clean. The rest you rinse and wipe down. Nothing professional about any of this.
I just bought a similar unit and used it yesterday at a fund raising event for a local charity. 2 problems I encountered was after the first 45 mins, the quality of the candy floss reduced massively. I was using like 2 scoops to make half a small cone! Do the machines need to be cleaned every hour or something? There was a lot of suger in the spinning head and sides? And 2nd what happens if you leave the voltage high? I had mine on 220 volts for like 5 hours straight! Does this mean it would melt more suger faster? Why do you advise we keep the voltage on 90? I'm just curios and asking the question so I can better understand the machine. Thank you in advance Kind regards Anj
I was informed by my seller that you need to clean it or poutmr it with water every after use for the sugar not to hardened inside. It needs to rest for 20 minutes after using it an hour accdg to the manual.

Once you have made your cotton candy do you not get any sugar residue on the head of the machine and does it not caramalise in the head and if so how do you clean this, this is an issue I have been having!
TuxedoElf...we just recieved our unit and how he operates it just DOESNT work..im worried we got ripped off. Can you let me know how you found the best way to operate it ????
TuxedoElf below has it right. Use the scoop after it is warmed up. One scoop makes about one good sized serving. Then just add one scoop at a time as needed. always be ready with a new cone to prevent the floss form floating away. If your machine is wired to 220 volts, the meter will go to 180 but if you have a 110V machine, it will only go to 110. And read the instruction sheet. The translation attempt to English is hilarious. Have fun!
different type of machine as far as i can see. Some machines have a mash screen that lets the molten sugar escape from the side. This one seems to let the sugar out from the top (maybe aided by some airflow)
I watched a few of these CC machine vids and you're supposed to let the candy build up on the inside of the bowl before you scoop it out with the paper handle thingy. Same basic machine. So it does appear that the guy demoing the machine has no idea how to use it and I find that sort of funny :)
He's using a widely accepted technique. A lot of people make cotton candy art, and his technique is the only way to do it. Only the laziest fairground type dudes use the "ring around the bowl" technique. Because they are doing only 1 color at the time and don't care if the candy is fluffy or not.
Wrong. The units that are used at fairgrounds are more industrial sized. I have this EXACT model in this video, and as you can clearly see from the video there is no meshing around the bowl. The larger units have that meshing on the sides which serves to collect the floss on the sides of the bowl. The more you use this machine, you get sugar all over the bottom and melted on the sides of the collection bowl. You can scrape that sugar off/up, and re-use it. I wouldn't recommend mixing/melting different flavors together except as experiment to see if you like the mixed flavor. Also, as the spin head gets dirty, it actually impedes the flow of the strings. So you need to watch yourself when making the cones so that you don't actually touch the spinning head with the tip of the collection cone, because that will melt the floss you have already collected onto the spinning head.
The string is supposed to come out the outside top edge of the sugarbowl through a screen with little holes in it . You might need to empty the sugar and heat up the empty sugar bowl and spin hot steaming water through it . Be careful its hot and it will splatter the hot sugar and steam . Your spinnerhead might be clogged .

different type of machine as far as i can see.
I liked the little bag full of Cheshesheries....
ocupo el regulador del calor de la maquina como lo consigo
The string is supposed to come out the outside top edge of the sugarbowl through a screen with little holes in it .
You might need to empty the sugar and heat up the empty sugar bowl and spin hot steaming water through it . Be careful its hot and it will splatter the hot sugar and steam . Your spinnerhead might be clogged .
