  • Comedian Pretty Vee received an honorary doctorate sparking a debate about honorary degrees vs. real degrees. Her ex bf, Rapper Rick Ross, expressed how proud he was on social media while completely ignoring his son’s high school graduation and commitment to the Football team of a Florida HBCU. Rick Ross showed up for Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” targeting Drake, but didn’t ahow up for his son’s big moment.

You have to think of the irony in this. Society has a way of diluting individuals' reality. Most of the time, they are engaged with what they believe is most popular. Unfortunately, at times, the black community is not supportive of traditional methods of success. Meaning, stories of success that includes long hours, dedication, blood, sweat and tears. They're more inclined to support coddling delusional perspectives of people self-acclaiming, manipulating reality and false achievements.
So, no. Rick Ross of course will not publicly recognize his son and would partake in this buffoonery of claiming to be a Dr. based on an honorary degree. Lastly, I believe most folks accept their honorary degrees with humility and would never claim equivalence to those who've studied an extensive amount of years.
      I'm just saying....
