I have a Ender 3 V3 SE and I upgraded it to the Sonic Pad. I tried Creality Print and I will never use it again. Orca Slicer is my go to now. I also want to thank you for the tip on sanding and painting 3D prints.
Holy crap😂, I’m making a C-3PO head on an Ender 3 V3 lmao. Looks like we’re using the same file. I just need to finish painting. I love the printer. It prints very well in PLA/PLA+ but struggles a little with TPU (those are the only 3 filaments I’ve used so far)
Did you keep the speed settings that the profile had for the Ender 3 V3? I've been playing around with it and just for the front of the C-3PO head its over 8hours even without supports. Thanks!
@@RileyBrandt-p2f I had to cut up each half into four pieces, used whatever speed the machine was set at, supports definitely added time but are extremely extremely important
I’m printing an ARC Trooper helmet at the moment. I have a Voxelab Aquila C2, which is essentially an Ender 3. I’ve printed 4 helmets up to this point and my printer’s handled them pretty well.
Just wanted to drop a quick thanks. I've been curious about 3d printing for awhile, but it has seemed unapproachable. They way you present the tech changes that. I just might but my first one! 😊
I’ve never gone back to Creality’s slicer, but I’m happy so say that there’s a dedicated profile in the latest version of Orca Slicer that’s been working fantastically for me.
i have the larger v3 pus and it is a great printer, but that single usb port was a bad decision. I just grabbed a splitter from amazon and have the nebula and the other for g code transfer. I don't like over wifi because I only get that to work with the Creality software and it always prints poorly using that slicer. Orca and usb for me 100
When you said foot sander, I thought that was the brand name or something. It wasn't until I clicked the link that I realized that it's literally a sander for feet!
I use cura, and I am just getting used to it's basic features. I do wish it had organic supports. They would be so much faster and use less material. I heard creality is going to release an AMS this year. I wonder how well it will work and if it will require creality slicer. I have never used an AMS, so it will be new for me.
@@MMsPropShopinteresting. I will check it out. I learn a lot from your channel. You are one of the best prop makers, finishers and teachers. Never stop being awesome.
Other maker youtubers: I added lights to my project check back next week for another video M.M Prop Shop: I printed, painted, and wired a project to check out this printer.
i am enjoying your videos, i dont have a printer but i have interest in doing some hobby stuff. and am semi retired disabled Vet and i like star wars and would love to do some droid stuff. i have been looking at the Enders so what can you recommend ? i use a mac so it would need to be compatible with that. thanks for your help
The newest Enders are great printers, but something that has come up more recently is their lack of easily found replacement parts which is a massive issue. I had to try to track down a new hotend and heat break for this machine and it was made even more difficult to search thanks to there being 4 printers with almost identical names. I would have also replaced the hotend cover but I wasn’t able to find one available. Hopefully this is something that will improve in the future, but at this point the machine has been out for 8 or so months and it really shouldn’t be an issue this far in. For the most part the various slicers have both windows and Mac versions of their software available (I’m also majority using Mac). If you want the absolute easiest jump into the hobby possible, Bambu Lab is still number one in my opinion. The A1 is also the same price as the Ender 3 V3 and it feels like a 3D printer that’s light years ahead.
6 months later, is there still an issue with the Creality Print slicer, do you think? I'm in the market for a printer, and this was the one I was thinking of. Should I get a different one?
definitely need to look into getting the sander, i take any shortcut with sanding i can get. And if you dont mind the question, where did you get the shirt? ive never seen merch with embo before.
Yes! The foot sander is easily my favourite post processing tool discovery. It’s saved me a lot of arm pain lol The shirt I actually got custom made. It’s my maker coin design that’s now become my logo/profile picture. There definitely needs to be more Embo merch! Other than my own shameless self promotion stuff I think the only other piece I have with him on it is a 501st Bounty Hunters Guild sweatshirt.
Thanks! Definitely better looking on camera than in real life. Something I didn’t get to mention in the video is that the yellow colour literally comes off all over your hands (my palms still have a slight tint to them 🤣) My stripping off of the first gold paint job really messed up the surface quality as well so bad gold on a not flawless base really doesn’t work 😅
@@MMsPropShop That sucks when a paint job goes wrong I feel your pain. I did a pulse rifle about a couple of months ago for a customer and then I painted one of the shrouds with a certain olive drab green paint from Amazon, it went on fine but after 24 hours the paint was still tacky and I had to strip it all off which was a job.
They’re these automatic wire strippers: amzn.to/3sKveT5 Fantastic if you have to do maintenance in small spaces and don’t have the space to pull traditional wire strippers.
I believe Creality fully overhauled their slicer. I haven’t had the chance to try it out yet though. As for Orca, still no V3 specific profile. The standard Ender 3 V3 KE one is still working well for the machine.
Here’s my config bundle: drive.google.com/file/d/1cOOw1Bwh9msi_Kvgl9VXeyFKbWLzUawu/view?usp=drivesdk I believe it’s basically the same as the Ender 3 V3 KE standard profile that Orca has.
@joeyjones4535 the neck piece is just sitting on a bit of a base that fits inside of the neck ring (I just resized a cylinder inside of Orca to fit). It seems like it’s not supposed to actually attach in anyway as I believe there was always a space between the two parts for movement in the costume.
@MMsPropShop I combined the neck and the collar peices to make a single print. Trying to make a solid desk peice anyway so I hope it works. I ordered your leds and also a mp3 chip to play some samples. I think I'm going to add in some broken wires and bolts to the bottom to look like it was ripped off. A switch for the eye lights and push button sound board. I think it will turn out good if I can get this neck to work.
@platypusrex2287 even though it’s technically redundant single diodes are still often referred to as ‘LED Diodes’. Just wanted people to be able to find similar lights if they were looking for them online even though I guess I could have worded it better 🤷🏻♀️
@platypusrex2287 which normally would be fine until someone goes to try to buy some single diodes and just types in LEDs on Amazon and gets every type of LED light under the sun and not at all what they’re actually looking for.
I have seen a youtuber barbatosrex make a chrome gold by using chrome, then clear yellow and brown on top of it. All he does is paint testing and model kit tools stuff. Check him out if you want to see a bunch of cool paints for your prints.
you should try adaptive layer height in orca slicer. you can set your smoothness. creates much more smoother curves and domes

The new Creality Print Ver 5.0 is fantastic and the V3 and all the K1 series works great on it, so much better than the old versions, give it a try

Ok so you have a gazillion printers but which one would you honestly recommend for newbies?
What alcohol ink do you recommend for painting gold?
Is the PETG filament that much better for post processing sanding than pla or pla plus without going to abs (and the smells) ?

ive been looking everywhere for that neck piece. where did you find it? its not in the original files.
The bottom ring? It’s part of the torso set of files.
