Awesome video! I just got the Plus version and am in the process of making mods slowly. The spool off to the side is my biggest gripe...fixing that soon! My fiance really loves the dragons, i was curious if you purchased the svl for the one used in this videos for toys for tots or is a free one somewhere? They looks awesome! I just received my printer three days ago and its my first one! Super stoked!
I just relocated my runout sensor to the top mount I printed but this is cleaner as I still had to extend the runout sensors wire along the side of the printer and down to its original plug.
I ended up removing the side spool holder. I have a two-roll Sovol filament dryer which has holes to pull filament from it. I added two PTFE tubes to it so I can feed the filament straight from the dryer without having to expose the plastic at all. It doesn't snag at all!
I do wish you had a link for the collet. I'm not sure. what to use for as search, and get pretty anxious when trying to find something that I'm not 100% sure of. Thanks for the links to the other stuff needed, though! (Just ordered the V3 (not plus) from Creality, so I have a little time to find the collet stuff. Thank for posting this just when I need the info!
I cut off a short piece of tubing that I put in the extruder. This way my tubing "floats" and is not connected to the extruder. Makes changing out the filament a snap.
I just got a open box v3 today and had to write this config 3x to get it right while following your video the last time I was putting it under the filament sensor 2 like I did for my k1 max
Hey Gryfang! I've been having fun, my new heat stake press had its iron go bad on me. It turns on by itself, and won't go below 356C. Currently looking for the QIDI label on it...
thank you for this video. I have modified my ender3 v3. I have a question. How do I change the temperature while loading the filament? To 230 degrees. I can't find it anywhere. 240 degrees is a bit too much. Snot is pouring from the "nose"
There should be a macro you can edit called “LOAD_MATERIAL” See if you can search for it and edit it. If not, you can try to make your own macro so it overrights the default 240 figure. Just know that if you use anything outside of PLA, you will run into issues since the temp can be too low.
I'm actually on the same fence, I just didn't chosen yet, because I'm waiting on the K2 Launch, where they will add the multi material - which should also have a upgrade kit for the K1 series to have MMU, which I belive will add the sensor at the hotend as well.
I was having issues with the sensor on the V3 and my K1 Max got my Max figured out but the V3 wont acknoleage the sensor at the extruder I tried the code that was used in the video and it wouldn't work did a factory reset still didn't like me.
Great modding! I don't know if you can help, but yesterday i was on latest firmware(1.2.3.21) and had my ender 3v3XZ rooted, i then decide to downgrade the firmware to the version 1.2.0.46 which was the first firmware release and when it restarted the printer, it got stuck on Creality logo. It waves the logo and then its white static creality logo. I have restarted with usb pen(fat32 4096) latest firmware, tried unplugged for more then 1 hour and nothing. I search everywhere, github, youtube, reddit, and i can't find anyone with same issue besides the ender 3v3SE. I saw the ender 3v3 SE motherboard firmware update that has the same creality logo stuck issue and they have the file there that's called .bin with necessary steps, but ender3v3XZ is .img. I already sent email to creality store but it takes some time to answer. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
I think now the versions of klipper, etc, are mismatching causing in an error to boot. I bet you have to reflash the MCU with a clean imagine. Search for the Ender3v3 wiki by Gilouz. Should have everything you need to get back to stock and working.
This machine is bad, actually its system is the problem. It checks only 5 points to make auto bed levelling in the start of every print and 6 out of 10 prints fail just because of that, while my other printers Anycubic Kobra 3 and Bambulab A1 checks more and more points and prints well with same filament. Actually Bambulab is the best, their technology is way over others... Anycubic's extruder is also weak like Creality's, chooses filament and stucks sometimes... Great work Creality, keep it on like this, noone will never buy your products if you dont update this absurd and weak auto levelling. Real charade...
I’m confused, if you want more points in the mesh, why don’t you just change it? This machine runs klipper, you have full control over every part of its firmware.
@3DPrintSOS why I have to dig the software while other brands presenting this as a standard preset. It's Creality's job to fix such a simple thing with an update. Otherwise I have to deal with separate auto leveling option in their settings. This is the pointless part, they should put it in every print as an option, give us 21 points check at least as a standard option in the beginning of every print. That shouldn't be so hard for them to update the firmware for all. I'm protesting this.
Not saying you should. Saying you can. Especially if you own it. The one this this machine has over others is that you CAN make edits. It’s not locked down. For what it’s worth, I own two and the both print great. I use them all the time.

You bet, glad it helped!

Cool! Seems like first step to hooking up a CFS / MMU too
;)

Thank you! These are the collets I use: amzn.to/3Q4yv7P
@@3DPrintSOS You are the MAN! I was looking at those, but wasn't quite sure they were the ones. Thank you so much, and keep up the awesome videos!
🙌🎉!! Great job, glad i dont have to mess with it, but great job.
@@mszoomy it’s rewarding when it works out. Haha 🤣
How did I miss this mod? For me, I hate having to pull the PTFE tube off to get that last bit of filament out when the roll runs out.
I know right! I saw it and I was like YUUUP. Time to mod. I do legit love these machines, and this makes it better for sure.
I cut off a short piece of tubing that I put in the extruder. This way my tubing "floats" and is not connected to the extruder. Makes changing out the filament a snap.
I did something similar but mounted the sensor on the top but had problems with the cable to the hotend dragging on the prints
Excellent mod!
I gotta come back to this later
I just got a open box v3 today and had to write this config 3x to get it right while following your video the last time I was putting it under the filament sensor 2 like I did for my k1 max
Great video! It's given me a few ideas for another printer I've been having some feed problems with.

@@3DPrintSOS and the question is... how do you make these macros, or how do you edit the current ones (load material)
@gregbolt3467 you can make and/or edit. If they exist, you can edit and hit save and reboot and they will be in place. Beauty of klipper. :)
I was on the fence about this for my K1 Max but I am pulling the trigger on it

There will have to be a cutter and an area for purging. Will be very interesting how they implemented this or if they scrap the promise all together.
@3DPrintSOS for the K1 max ect I was thinking about adding a cutter that was designed for a Qidi Q1 Pro
I was having issues with the sensor on the V3 and my K1 Max got my Max figured out but the V3 wont acknoleage the sensor at the extruder I tried the code that was used in the video and it wouldn't work did a factory reset still didn't like me.
now it just needs a cable chain to really clean it up
Hmm true. Know of any?

It's a "zed", not "zee".
