Ibanez actually produced a fretted version of this model years ago, but true to Ibanez's style, it was discontinued shortly after (Ibanez SR30TH4). They made it so short-lived and obscure that it seems like they wanted people to forget about it-and they succeeded 😅
I liked the fretted model. The combination of semi hollow and nordstrand big single pickups gave it such an aggressive tone. Perfect for rock and metal.
@@BsMusicShopMI I'm currently divided in buying the last new SRF706 I see online.. or waiting for a potential SRD906F. Hopefully Ibanez reads these comments!
@@Megatronpt I looked it up, the SRF700 and the 5 came out in 2014, and the SRF706 came out in 2017! So you may have to wait awhile if it does come... I had a SRF705 back then and it was awesome. Good luck!
Thank you for the demo. I was looking at this with the nordstrand pickups and wanted to know if the tone would be noticeably different from the SRF700/705. Maybe you can play with it more, but this tone isn’t far enough removed to justify the $1300 5 string version. A lot of other “demos” do too much to mask what it sounds like in a room
Nice nice (nice?). I made the mistake of getting a 6 string for my first fretless... 😂 To me there is no "perfect sound" but this nez sounds quite versatile.
suprizin' fretless isný the standard for bass, slides sound silky and the buzz isn't there whens you come up short on a strech its cooler than my SGB fir shir.

Wild.
I like that they don’t stay stagnant but this could have stuck around a little longer. The fretless was great!

I was just given one of these. And oh my is it ever nice. Never had a fretless but this one is beautiful.
For looks I find it a bit awkward, but nothing terrible. If I get it I might consider recutting the holes into some other shape
Whats the story behind getting given one of these 😂 must have wealthy mates
@@wade4846 Yup!
@@wade4846 actually I tell a lie. He is just a point in his life where he is able to buy what he wants. Then he plays it for a while and moves on.
I was at B’s about a month ago and played one of those, sounded great but it was above my $40 dollar budget
Only a little!
I just hope for a 6 string version of this one.
Ehhhh. Doubtful. They usually move on to a new thing for the next year. It would have been cool tho!

@@Megatronpt The SRF706 took time to come out, it did not come out with the 4 and the 5, so I wouldn't give up hope
@@ghoulcaster You made my day! Really hope so!

The Sr is a great serie from Ibanez

30 "fret" range! So I can play "Jerry was a Racecar Driver" 😊
Feeling hungry for pie-zo
You should probably take the plastic off the pick ups!
Doesn’t change the sound. Magnets don’t care.
I left it for the owner. It already sold to a happy home 😺

It’s always been one of my favorite. So smooth.
@@BsMusicShopMI if you do a review of the katana you should use this bass and do a mini dive on setting up a couple interesting rigs.
Are you a giant? Or does that bass just have a really tiny body??
I am over six feet. You be the judge.
It’s a standard Soundgear size.
Uh, pretty sure it’s peeAzo, not Pie-zo 😅
hey man. I’m in the Midwest. I said what I said.
Sounds like every other active fretless.
It’s just that I make all fretlesses sound this good. 😂
I don't like the sound ... it's not first class, and the guitar is expensive...It sounds poor and funny. "Portamento" is three times better
Thanks for watching!
Oh look, A feminist playing a bass.
You say that like it’s a bad thing. 😘🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
