John D'Orazio and Sons, Inc. no longer exists Captain. We stopped operations July 2023. My cousin still runs the dumpster division. Thought I'd give you a heads up. 90 years, in the Burg for 70. Thanks for the memories.
Thx for another great video. For over 50 years I lived just across the creek. Back in the day, I could smell chocolate from Blumenthal’s/ Ward’s & coffee. Good memories.
Imagine the impact of all the trucks moving product to and from these warehouses? I am surprised the neighborhood allowed these structures to be built.
Blue Rock is a construction company. They’re building two huge industrial warehouses for a company called DH Property Holdings. What was that cool old building on the left at 20:15 ?
7:30 - given the mobile signal indicator on it next to the address number 4501, maybe a telecom building or datacentre. How is the signal around that area these days?
The bike trail doesn't go all the way to South Philly. It currently goes from the Tacony boat launch to the Frankford boat launch. The trail in South Philly ends at Penn Treaty Park. I think the eventual plan is to connect them all together, but that could take a while. Having all these bike trails is going to be important once gas costs $10 a gallon and scooters and ebikes are so over-produced they cost less than a cup of coffee.
My parents moved from Kensington to Bridesburg back in the 90's. My aunt and uncle lived there for 50 years. It looks like I wouldn't recognize it today.
I could be wrong but I believe that many of those mega warehouses are built by commercial developers which then lease them out to companies that are looking for warehouse space. You can tell that alot of them have multiple office entrances which means the facility can be subdivided to suit potential leasers needs.
The logo on that building is for Bridge Industrual, warehouse developer. The normally won't announce who's going in there until it's almost done. If it was Amazon you'd know by now.
This is KingLeo I'm a King Malamute yo what's up the puppy Lol every time My dog see your dog he goes nuts Hy Captain keep up the great job your doing it's very interesting how the area around you is changing fast looking forward to seeing more and one day in the summer I'll see you at a Phillies game
I remember the slaughter house that used to be across from Color Tile back in the 80’s. I don’t know if that’s the same neighborhood or not, but omg that stench was horrible.
Where in Philly did the model Gia grow up? It was during the late 70's she was a teenager and went to highschool but I don't remember where? Her Dad owned a deli there? Thanks.
Maybe that's a new Peanut Chew or a Candy Corn factory being built. Philadelphia is like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, except instead of golden tickets they give you parking tickets more often and you don't get a factory tour with it.
I don't get the trash dumping. Just put it in front of your house. Of 45 years of putting trash out the Philly trash men took it all or the trash pickers. Ive thrown out massive bedroom sets, couches, mattresses and the trash pickers took all the metal and Refrigerators, TVs and all electronics. Or take it to the Dump. The one close to me is at Ashburner and State Rd. The city should let everyone know that.
Probably commercial places doing a lot of the dumping and they don't want to pay for pickup. But I see people just throw trash out of moving cars nearly every day. So upsetting, they have zero regard for how things look.
That area looks polluted and contaminated with toxic chemicals. Who would want to go to that park? The soil is toxic. Sorry to be negative. But toxic is toxic!
Eagles fan from England and now i am a new subscriber. Go birds
I use to live near bridge and Pratt street thank you for showing the old neighborhood

My brother used to work for SEPTA regional rail. He retired.

Captain it was Coopers Coke Factory. And it’s not Amazon it’s going to be rented Wharehouses. There are two more warehouses behind Garden Street

That logo is for the warehouse developer (Bridge Industrial), not the occupant.

Was that site poluted by Rohm and Hass? Says that there was some infill on the site
Yes, you can look up the address. They removed something like 40,000 tons of contaminated soil.
The Facebook Bridesburg Community Action Alliance has some nice info on the new Greenway thats under construction
Private equity is funding the warehouse construct. Soon to be leased to Amazon for distribution
I believe that train goes to AC
That warehouse across from the playground was Coppers Coke many years ago.
My parents moved from Kensington to Bridesburg back in the 90's. My aunt and uncle lived there for 50 years. It looks like I wouldn't recognize it today.
My great uncle was buried in a Catholic cemetery there in Bridesburg

I love seeing those houses in Bridesburg! Feels like home ! I grew up in Northeast Philly
Here weeeee areeeee!!!
What's the overhead white pipe that snakes through parts of the area? Delivering chemicals?

That letter at the end god bless them it was a refusal letter though city said no
Warehouses just like behind my house on Garden Street
Train Dorks Unite!
4:45 there's a barge terminal right there for "phenol" - that's probably what stinks.
Blue Rock is a construction company. Looks like the Amazon warehouses.
Awesome neighborhood but the traffic , I could never live there because of that.
Blue Rock online says a privately held construction firm
Worst thing about Lewis Street. When your scooter dies and have to push it back home 😅
amazon building coming soon
I remember the slaughter house that used to be across from Color Tile back in the 80’s. I don’t know if that’s the same neighborhood or not, but omg that stench was horrible.
The slaughter was on Aramingo Ave coming out of our neighborhood
Bob Borski was a Philadelphia Representative for 20 some years
I’d like to see a Kmart warehouse.
Where in Philly did the model Gia grow up? It was during the late 70's she was a teenager and went to highschool but I don't remember where? Her Dad owned a deli there? Thanks.
I believe she grew up in Parkwood, graduated from Lincoln in 1977
The House refused to move when they built Rohm and Hass. I guess they changed their mind.
Hey captain are they building the new schools at the aresonal yet for maritime
omg that’s me playing baseball
BlueRock is the General Contractor
I thought maybe a Costco ...but I think that kid is right .
Bob Bordküche Former congessman from bridesberg
Looks like amazon warehouse, or prisn
Definitely an amazon warehouse being built
I also like the smell of coffee but I don't drink coffee ...☕
you get sick in that water
You just drove by my house

It is sad to see most of what you are showing us is so depleted and worn down.
Apparently after the apocalypse
I live there I feel like he found all the trash in the neighborhood

You can see toxic chemicals via video?
@@spamlessaccount You can. What's coming out of those smoke stacks? You don't actually have to hear a fart to know it smells!
@@TylerThompson-z3w Something coming out of a smokestack doesn't make it toxic.
@@spamlessaccount As long as you believe it, then it must be true!
