Watercolor poppies. I love the freedom of painting without drawing! Great fun and therapy. Exclusive tutorials available on my Patreon membership: www.Patreon.com/karenriceart
These are gorgeous! I always love your videos, you're SO talented and it's so relaxing to listen as you teach us so much...thank you for that :) Poppies❤ they're the first thing I taught myself to draw, in my 40's, then to paint... I love how loose and playful you can be with them, but you can also make them super detailed.... so many colors and.... yea, my health hasn't allowed me to do any of this for a long while... I miss it very much, as you can tell😊
@@KarenRiceArt Thank you🥰 I hope so too, art saved my life before and I need it to again. But, I'm very very thankful for all of you amazing artists on here where I can at least keep learning and seeing beautiful art being made... it helps me stay excited about projects I want to work on when able :) So, thank you for that!😊

I've tried doing this sort of thing and mine were just a mess on a pad, no way did they look like this. I need to practice, practice, practice and practice some more.
At last, an artist who knows what a spatter is and doesn’t use the word splatter as in what you see on the road, such as road kill splattered across the Rd
Please confirm what type of tape you use to attach art paper to a board when painting? In your video Dos & Don’t Watercolor painting You say “Framers Tape”. Your tape is tan/brown. In America we have a variety of tape and colors. What exact brand do you use? Is it masking tape? Or a tape that Painters of a Wall in a house would use that is Blue? We have a Framing Business and we use Acid Free Tape. No acid in the tape. Typically it’s a white heavy duty tape. Some art teachers put their 300# watercolor paper in water and the let it drip off, then lay on a board and then put a 2” wide piece of tan/brien tape on that has a gummy adhesive in it and the water activates the stickiness. Just need you to clarify what this tan:brown tape you use is. Manufacture and order number and width. Thank you Juanita “Mia” Some times you sat the words Painters Tape, Artist Tape, Framers Tape.
Thank you for your question regarding the type that I’m using. I also use Washi tape. Hope this is helpful :-)
You make it look so effortless!

I prefer freehand because pencil marks bleed through eventually and ruin the painting.
So nice!
Thank you! 😊
Me, too 🤩
Hello lovely tutorial❤ I was wondering what paper watercolor paint and brush name and size did you use to create these beautiful poppy flowers
Thank you so much. I was using 300 g 100% cotton watercolour, paper, cold pressed paper. I was using black velvet brushes by Silverbrush.

I’ve always wondered why some artists say, splatter instead of Spatter? Thanks for sharing.
