TH-cam legend Pierre-Yves Plat stuns his crowd with Tea For Two... in salsa?!
Sheet music trivia (first to answer correctly gets PDF): spot the measure with nothing but triplets.
trivia: 61?
Measure 61?
61!
You could also argue 65, since the transcription is wrong and he plays quarter note triplets
That's totally true and I like your style-I crcaked up 🤣 You also won the contest! 😂@@ikesike812
for me he's also less genius than flashy peacock, from this sample: Sorry Pierre-Yves!
This was a wildly impressive performance. It's a shame to see so many people in the comment section be so judgmental over the audience and the performer. As music lovers, we must credit the audience and performer for taking their time out of their day to create such a wonderful environment to keep music alive. To perform at this level in front of an audience is a feat of its own. It was a wonderful performance, and the audience loved it. Great transcription, too! Remember, musicians, historically, music grew because of the audience. Barely anyone would be playing music if it weren't for that. Please be humble and appreciate those who support a musician with their time, attention, and money.
Yikes the claps on 1 & 3 killed me
There were claps on 2 and 4 as well. Having claps on every beat is fine lol
Not only were they clapping on 1 & 3, but they were also late!
I feel we learned a whole lot about who the audience was really quickly. 🤣
@mharbaugh also laughing at people who clap on 1 and 3 is hardly something jazzers want to be associated with. It's a toxic elitism
As I said in my other reply you can hear claps on 2 and 4 as well. This just means there is a clap on every beat, which is fine
@@mharbaugh The lateness can just be a side effect of a large auditorium which is why as a rule people just shouldn't join in at concerts unless invited. It's especially noticeable at stadium gigs and can massively throw the performers off.
The 1 & 3 is just unforgivable though lol
@@mharbaughkinda snobbish
4:18 Coconut mall - Mario Kart !
Absolute genius! It's people like him that should be running the world 👍
I love Pierre Yves’s works Thanks for your video :D
Lightning fingers indeed - great transcription TG!👏🏻
Beautiful 🎶🎶💕
Me when I leave the house. SIKE! I aint no genius, but I do stride out of the house...
Brilliant!
Friggin awesome. Holy crap that stride.
great music - very talented but I'm missing the genius part
wow that stride
DONT CLAP ON 1 AND 3
Makes me wish I had a piano nearby. 🥴🤤🤣
03:25
Salsa
0:36 is it on key ?!? you tel me!
Is tel the right spelling?
I like what he is doing, but don't really feel him comfortable so everytime it kinda grows up ⬆but looses down instantly. Do anyone feel the same?
Tension and release. It makes music interesting. Look it up.
I bet if you performed in Africa they would know not to clap on 1 and 3. It's all these Polka listeners
If you’re gonna play Tatum’s song and use Tatum’s fast stride, and be under a video title saying you're a genius (Tatum was a known genius) people are probably gonna compare you to Tatum.
And while this guy is talented, he is not within a mile of Tatum, respectfully. Good playing, good stride…. a bit repetitive harmonically though.
ok
the pianist did not title this video
Naaaaaah genius Cory Henry or Jacob Collier
Yeah. No. Compare this to the Cory Henry. Just the fact that he gets the audience to clap on 2&4 tells you all there is. It's like comedy that's too much on the nose
bro shut up
Year. No. Compare this to the Art Tatum. (end of debate) 😉
Rubbish 😂
