For everyone that starts with the knife there’s a way more consistent way to beat him:
Just Guard the first 2 turns, when you have 2 rev points you can:
1) attack the torso if you can tank the turn
2) guard again if your HP are low
Depending on what happened do this in the third turn:
1) rev up 3 times and aim at the torso
2) rev up 3 times and pray

As for Abella, I think it's better for her to attack the torso at the first turn using the attack option before throwing the wrench on the 2nd turn
