this is one of the best interviews Ive ever seen & Mali is one of my favorite artists of all time. Dope. this is like the Club Shay Shay & Katt Williams interview for me, it answered alot of questions I had, caught me up, & further substantiated my respect level for the figure...even raised it a little knowing there was no fall off, but theyve been submitted to the processing of their purpose for all this time... even at the points it possibly made them look a way to supporters. Yall both the type of man I would (& have) chopped it up with. kudos & I pray that this becomes more of the kingdom representation we see than other things we see ✊🏾
@@KDBowe aww man, no problem. This is good stuff. We've crossed paths a few times before, last time was coming from the Stellars in Vegas at the airport. From that convo alone this just aligns with your character. I actually performed at an event & met Mali in his beginning stages & we last spoke at Sweet Auburn fest here in Atlanta just before he signed with Akon. He's always been solid. Last thing he told me was "faith is like a roller coaster, with each new high comes a greater dip, which is the uncertainty, but you trusted God enough to get on the ride, so trust that God will also carry you through to its end (paraphrasing). But yeah, this update falls right in alignment with that from like 10 years ago.
It's the DEPTH for me. You listen to Mali & Jonathan McReynolds... you can literally hear that depth! And if you're a minister through music who values ROOT & DEPTH in GOD before sprout, you'd know he ain't faking it! And you can see how he's taking his time to think before he responds. He's not rushing it. He wants to be clearly understood. GOD keep these guys! Love them. And I'm here just 17 minutes into this 1 hour 19 minutes video. Haha. Loving this! You know, I gotta say... I really appreciate KD's role in this video. It didn't feel like an ordinary interview... it was a convo, truly inspiring one. And, KD, you continually guided the convo properly, yet, you allowed him space to express himself. When you say things like, "Say more" or "Say that a different way." Soooo good! I'm telling you... this is so good! KD, GOD bless you, brother!
Amen to your prayer for them. Mali seemed to have turned away from The Lord a little while before he started teaming up/duetting with Jonathan in pursuit of getting a deal and being played in the mainstream - part of his pairing with Jonathan (who sold out for BET Sunday’s Best type stuff and fame within the false-gospel music industry) although both gifted musically. Mali’s pride got the better of him, and he felt he needed recognition for “what he could bring” to music - which is good stuff if he really wanted to bring glory to God instead of himself: kind of like he was before… You only have to listen back to his interviews and what he’s saying to know this. It’s as though he thinks he’s got some mystical-spiritual mission above what God calls us to in Christ, chameleon-ing with the industry to redeem the industry through his music, and bring them to…what? Because once you’ve left Christ out of it and gone and done it your own way, you’ve got nothing to bring them to for their redemption because Christ’s no longer in it with you. And then acting like “people don’t understand” what he’s doing with his music, when he’s trying to deny the fact and try to pull the wool over people eyes to not realise he’s just sold out for the world, because he wants to associate himself with God and the name of Christ to appear like he’s (still) doing God’s work. I don’t sense any depth from him (I just got to the “sprout” part)…just talking in riddles and trying to sound profound like he’s saying something - which sounds deep to those who are shallow in God’s word and faith in Christ, the lukewarm, and/or those who have itching ears. With all that said, God’s arm is not shortened that it can’t restore Mali, and all things are possible with Him…so let’s pray God has mercy on him. 🙏🏽
I remember when I first heard Mali sing at a college tour--online. I was searching for Christian musicians to support and his voice landed like butter. I believe I listened to every song I could find online. I resolved to support his career and have been doing so, as all of his fans have, since. A lot of what he said in this interview was necessary. Years have passed and while I usually never want to know details about musicians, it was becoming difficult to understand all of the choices. It made sense based on what he said at the time: why he collaborated or spent so much time creating new music, but the process was unknown since I did not see interviews as in depth as this. Mali is relatable. And his voice remains a repeat for me, especially when I want to make God swoon. 😂😂😂 The lyrics do it every time. I am so happy to hear about his pastor and the circumcised heart regarding money. I am glad to hear the struggles to determine "stardom" and the role it plays. I love that he took the time to accept all of the changes, at his pace. His team has been phenomenal. From protecting his ministry to clothing and venue choices, I have enjoyed mom manager and all those in between. I believe they all worked on an incredible career and proved that love conquers all. At the same time, the growth needed explanation and this time I understand him. He always made sense but this interview and interviewer made the hour long format worth watching. It is super late so I fell asleep and had to rewind it. Kind of too late for both of your voices not to put me to sleep--in a good way. I have avoided Christian music for a bit as I am trying to build the entire church, which includes Jewish people. Christians tend to struggle with Jewish rabbis and circles, sadly. But Jonathon and Mali remain my favorite along with Kirk Franklin. I know I am not planning to return to supporting all of the Christian musicians, but this duo is focused. And I remain a fan of the music. Hoping you remain faithful to that circumcised heart. And glad I can support you without being terrified. Jonathon is so much more talkative. 😂😂😂. I love this interview: 10/10. May God continue his ministry and provide more music to bring us closer to the Messiah. Glad my support was not wasted on hoes and shoes😂😂😂😂. Just joking😂😂😂😂😂 that is not his style....😂😂😂😂my sense of humor is terrible. 😂 But sometimes these artists truly do not get it. Looking forward to looking at the music I missed while spending time with Chabad. So happy to see the growth. Still turning up the speakers and singing along to the early classics to this day. And that is why I am glad I supported you--you actually love Christ. Take care.
I love Mali!!!! This was soooo good! I pray he does find his queen!!! Because he needs that heavy love he sung about! Johnny and Donna is my mama’s and I favorite song! We listen to it all the time. And I always wondered if he was talking about himself too!??? Lol 😂
@@kimokat I know he is not married. Oh Lord, not one on the way! Is with that same chick he just had the last baby with? Why won’t he just marry her? When they was on live together, they were on one accord to me. But like in the interview, you can sense he is fearful of marriage. Let’s just pray for him!
@KelsShavon55 She definitely pregnant again by him. Got a lil baby shower video on her Instagram 🤦🏾♀️ So he's openly in fornication talking about God and still acting like he's not gonna get married after knocking this woman up twice. I didn't do all the things correctly with my now husband but one thing we knew is we had to make the covenant before God and that sin is sin. They're too lax with that big ole elephant in the room. If I was her and seen this interview I would be embarrassed.
@@kimokat Amen sis you’re right. Sin is sin. He needs to do right by her and marry her. She should already be embarrassed. She has him in her IG bio and all on her IG and he doesn’t have the same. Oh, you best believe I went and did my research on that other baby on the way thing…It wasn’t a baby shower, but a lil gender reveal. So yeah he needs to stop playing around and put a ring on it.
