Sam is being humble he had a hell of a season in 1984 and is one of the most beloved Wildcats ever. We love you Sam and were not a bust, you just got hurt. ✌️🙏🇺🇸
They really do him dirty with all the "biggest bust" talk, after breaking his legs like 4 times dude still average 10ppg 8rpg and 2 blocks! for 10 seasons in the NBA. If he was never injured I could see him being as good as Alonzo Mourning defensively he could've been one of the best
I remember when he played Little League baseball in Lebanon, Pa, when I was growing up. He played on USWA with my cousins Mike and Robert Battle. Got to watch him at the Hershey Center in the Pa state championship as a kid. Nice guy and everyone loved him
Sam Bowie is the first Kentucky player I ever remember as a 5 year old child. I believe that Bowie would be an NBA hall of famer if he had stronger leg bones. It is a crying shame that people have labeled him as a “bust”. You can’t help health issues.
Not old enough to remember him before the injuries, but given his athleticism before and the skills he still displayed after, he would have been an all-time great if he hadn’t gotten hurt.
I loved that era. Very thankful that I was able to grow up then.

Not a bust. He just got hurt.
What a great interview and interesting, wonderful speaker. Loved it. Never really heard Sam talk before. Cool dude.
Sam has always been one of my favorite wildcats

Sam Bowie & Kyle Macy ... 2 great Wildcat Legends!

If he didn't get hurt, Ralph Sampson would have had to give up one of the player of the year awards.
Tar Heel fan but I always liked Bowie
Not a bust, just terrible luck.
Good player, bad luck.
Clean coal, huh?
