You gotta give these guys credit. They started with absolutely nothing and they've listened to the fans and you can actually see the effort put into the game. They'll get my business this year
And to think that there's still people who are calling this game a copy paste! Like have they not seen Nascar '14 and Nascar '15? Those games are true copy pastes!
Out of all of the game developers for sports, RPG, Shooter, etc.... 704 is probably the best one for listening to the fans and giving them like everything they want to make the game better, and at such a fast pace to..I couldn't ask for any other people to make NASCAR games. I know I can be harsh on you sometimes, based off of the previous games, but with the short time spam you guys have improved exponentially. I can't wait to try out the game this year and see how different it is from all the previous Heat games.. Thank you!

Mad respect to this guy and his team. Being a game dev is extremely difficult, and you can absolutely tell they're doing everything they can to please us.
*Can I just be the one to point out how awesome it is to see the name on the window of the car? That was one of my pet peeves of driving as yourself in career, but having the last name of another driver on your car.*

it's not impressive, NASCAR 2000 from 20 yrs ago on the PS1 had it.
Yeah nascar 09 had day to night transitions and I THINK they accelerated to match the race distance so if you only did 20 percent it still started and ended at the appropriate time. I could be mistaken on that detail so please if I’m wrong feel free to correct me. It is a good step to at least have it jump to different lighting with stages but an actual gradual transition like project cars would be awesome. Here’s hoping for next year
That was an incredible interview. I'm glad that he really broke down the process of how they work at 704 because some people think that it's easy and they can do stuff in a snap of a finger and that's definitely not true. Wasn't expecting day to night transitions to be in the game so that's a nice surprise and definitely got me excited. At the end of the day im just hoping this game isn't a buggy mess when it release. That's what I'm nervous about and why I'm gonna wait a few days before I decide to buy it. And btw... did he just confirm custom schedules in championship mode?

So glad that the ping pong effect is gone as well as they've addressed the apron issue. Sadly still on NH2 & hate getting thrown into the wall or shot off the apron when the AI bumps me yet it feels like they've plowed into me like a freight train.
Very cool how they acknowledge their former shortcomings. Much respect.
I am hoping talladega will be just as good as ETX Racing’s talladega and Daytona, that would be sick.

This is it. This is the one. Finally. I shall give them my money and purchase it. I'm impressed at how they only had 9 months and yet they fixed the graphics, sound, and physics. I think in Heat 5, they should prioritize
1. Paint Booth
2. Caution Replays
3. Day to Night transitions
4. Presentation
5. Manuel Caution Driving
Edit: Oh shit, they actually have transitions in the stages. Cool! I like how they did that. But for real. Next game they can do it seamlessly.

I bought this game because of jeff today. Not regretting it at all! I'm Canadian from Montreal we see more F1 but I'm loving this nascar game! Been to see a nationwide series once it was amazing! This game is definitely a boat load of fun! Worth the 69.99$

Its great to see how much the developers have been listening imo, the game looks incredibly improved not just with graphics but how you can customise the player and A.I physics to your liking in the menu, going to definitely be picking it up , thanks for getting the interview Jeff
I feel like an jerk.I have been negative and comparing this to forza7.They should have this on their Facebook and TH-cam. I am truly sorry for being so toxic. With this video I totally have more respect for 704games. Their the underdog. I guess being spoiled by forza graphics. I though every game should look as good.But there is so much more to it.That's why forza 7 cost over a hundred million dollars to make. Great video. Hopefully 704games reads some comments and know how much the video has changed my opinion about them.
Great job.. Absolutely love the sound changes! Everything else is great too, but the sound is my favorite change.
Yeah an online career mode would add a more realistic touch to the game because then you are racing against real life players.
Another awesome thing would be every driver has their Darlington paint scheme.

The feeling of real weight to the car was what I was waiting for and the interview has made this my most anticipated racing game in years and I’m in day one

What a change from 3 to 4! I love that they've added more options to change the experience from person to person. That's the kinda thing I really wanted.

Well if they fixed the physics and A.I and better stats and graphics who gives a shit. it would be cool to have the paint booth but it's not a big deal to me.

I LOVE what I've seen from 704 so far. They've FINALLY given us a DECENT game.
3:48 the pit crew has a design on their fire suits instead of a blank black and green suit with the custom car like in NH3, so does this mean we will have the ability to costomize our drivers race suits?

Very happy to hear about the options to aid in our driving styles. Along with the heavy emphasis of the physics, I definitely think it's going in the right direction!
I'm so glad they listened to us and took our feedback and fixed the main issues which was a shitty physics model, tire model, and bad contact physics. I can't believe they did all this, I just wish it could've been done sooner but I have my pre-order in for NH4 Gold Edition.

Yo this game actually looks good now, I love all these options and these new menus are 10X more aesthetically pleasing. I'm very hype for the fantasy seasons and day to night transitions

Just bought it and raced the demo race while installing ... after playing NH2 for a month. It's phenomenal and I'm full of adrenaline. The sound, the graphics, the atmosphere, everything!
For NH5 I wish they could bring some classic cars like the early 90s cars such as Chevy Lumina and improve damage physics.

Thanks to Jeff and to Sean for the interview, made me want this game even more now than before. I have one question, is there any changes with car set ups? Mostly a description on what each type of set up will change in the car. Most of the racing games I have played, Forza, F1 2019, Project cars ect, have a small description on set ups. I prefer to make my own but i'm not very good understanding what each set up will do to the performance of the race car. Thanks again the the great interview!!
The SOLE fact I am suddenly giddy about about this new game is when you said the feel is driving off the RR of the car and not the RF. Not the graphics, not the added ability to race almost any track, not day to night transitions, none of that made me giddy. The physics did. The physics, tire wear and general "core" driving aspect of the game seems to finally be fixed. Well done on the interview Jeff and you have now officially sold me into ordering the game :]

I'm so happy with the day-to-night transitions! Very clever of them to do it through the stages.
Ornery pointed it out but I'm still amazed at the detail on the scene in the pits when you can see the imperfections in the body of the Gander Mtn Truck from body flex!
Man i love the direction this series is going. They are building a good foundation for the future for more series and major features.

Another big additions year. Yes the ea games were deep in career but this is the third straight fully licensed year and the gameplay is improving.704 actually listens to its players

Very nice. The first thing I noticed was the graphics and man I must say, they are fantastic! The physics look great and obviously I’d need to play the game to see that more thoroughly. Definitely something I’ll need to play man.

This game looks absolutely fantastic. And I am not even a Nascar fan. Possibly because I'm European. But, seeing this, it does look nice. I can tell this could get people to understand what Nascar really is, even if you're not familiar with it.
Tho, @Jeff Favignano, I do have to give you credit with iRacing, that made me understand it more seeing you and the gang play it.

@@jfavignano Any time bud. It really is, any kind of racing has its own spec-sheet. I personally find it interesting to see the differences between each motor sport. It's really cool to have games/simulators show the other side of things than what people as a viewer usually don't see.

Wow this is the first video game team I’ve ever heard or seen a honest and personal interview that shows these guys care about what they create and what they can improve and progress with, too bad nascar itself isn’t doing the same/:
NASCAR is trying you can’t bag them for that, I personally feel that the fan base is transitioning from the 90s die hard fans to the modern younger gen
The problem is with real life seasons in nascar is this...just like these games you have to improve with detail, ( they continue to make new packages that have made racing more and more boring), not to mention they have uprooted there root original tracks like rockingham north wilksborro, etc. born in 95 and father being a die hard fan watching every single practice qualify and race for all series from my first life memories all the way into the 2010s, they haven’t created new tracks apart from the recent roval at Charlotte which in even video games were around since early 2000 video games, we need newer tracks set up stadium style, sports these days for fans are built around to make it to where they can bet, it all comes to money as the old school has died but the roots still need to be re introduced and exist in schedules, just like the decline of actually great cinematic originals being mind blowing we’ve been stuck in nostalgia rather than work with what’s going on and creating originality In order to increase popularity, in other words, expensive changes needed to be made otherwise these barely filled stands will continue, parents were season holders at Texas which had over 150000 fans for years show up and now less than half and the backstretch stands from last time I was there don’t even exist. NASCAR needs change with bringing back what they took away which were the roots in exchange for stadium style speedways, more rovals, updated modern day commentary, make these stock cars actual stock cars again, not computers, drastically change schedule and build wild style courses with length but still fitting into stadium style stands(dual level figure eights or rovals and other random figured tracks) and you will see what the younger generation would find attractive, ill be 24 in three months, I am the genreration that saw the intensity of nascar growing up in a home that spent 4-7 days obsessed on it, and these all are things that need to be done otherwise, this will fail within the next ten years and be irrelevant, actual history of the United States, becomes non existent all because of fear of change
Tbh I don't even like Nascar irl, but the HEAT games have always been fun, and Heat 4...boiiii I'm getting it. It looks really good.

They should get a deal with world of outlaws late models...it would make the dirt aspect of the game a lot better because you would have real drivers and real paint schemes.
They need to work on the damage model for next year.
The game looks awesome! I want more realistic career, and to be able to build a dynasty like JGR or SHR. I would like to see the ability to build a good pit crew. Then see a nascar silly season with drivers changing teams, new rookies and retiring.
Looks good! Not sure if its something you can answer, but do the cars feel like they are staggered this year? 1-3 seemed to have no "crabbing" down the straights at all, and that's one of the things that make an stock car feel like a stock car.
I haven't been this excited about a NASCAR game in years.

I'm definitely looking forward to playing this game! Nascar Heat 3 was great but this one might top the list of my favorite Nascar games.
Wish EA gave this kind of effort for Madden

I just want to be able to run the top on the 1.5 mile tracks and search to a 2nd or 3rd grove on Richmond especially when I’m league racing. Everybody running the bottom like in NH-NH3 kills the fun
I prefer Career Mode but if I wreck at the beginning of a race I have to finish the race just to move on to the next race. Its the one thing I hated. You cant simulate races in career mode. Give us that option. I hate racing some tracks but if I race the race setting on real then I have to run 100 laps at sonoma just to move on to the next race.
Hope one day, in future games, they will add more camera options while racing, & be able to go from one car/truck to another(like how they were in older heat games before Evolution)during post-race replays.
Please release this in Australia its been so long since I had a good NASCAR game
