If it were true. What do you think Ukraine anticipated when they took advancement to Russia? Ukraine army already figured it out that Russia will use its air advantage on this. Funny but the best defense after a good offense is to anticipate what would enemy will do.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine occupied (do not control) 400 km2 of the territory of the Kursk region, and the entire territory covers an area of 29,000 km2. For comparison, Russian troops control about 109,000 km2 of the territory of the former Ukraine. And the whole of Russia occupies more than 17,000,000 km2. There will not be enough Ukrainians even if they are placed one per square kilometer. What are the prospects for the Ukrainian occupiers - figure it out for yourself. If you think they are good, then go back to school, to the 4th grade!

you speak about area only not of the ability of the fighting forces, you didn't mention the russian army is ten times larger then Ukraine, started with over twenty thousand tanks, and thousands more armored personal carriers, yet here is it three years later 600,000 dead russians, at least twice that many seriously wounded, lost about six thousand or so tanks, a bunch of air frames and all they have to show for it they occupy a small part of Ukraine and that area is not a secure area for russians to go to sleep in. this invasion that was suppose to last a couple of months has cost russia so much in battle loses they will never recover the cost alone to say nothing of the loses in both killed and fled the country to ever rebuild.

Zelenskyy Kursk misadventure already failed. Zelenskyy had a pipe dream to capture Kursk NPP. Capturing at such a staggering cost a string of villages in the middle of nowhere that can't be held makes zero military sense. Zelenskyy wasted so far 2,300 troops KIA, 279 armored vehicles, 15 artillery systems, 4 anti-aircraft systems on this another costly PR misadventure while vital Ukrainian positions at the actual front are crumbling. It's the same nutty pattern as with Bakhmut, Krinky or a publicly announced failed Zelenskyy offensive in 2023. Zelenskyy is the gift that keeps on giving to the Russians advised by even nuttier DC gifts.
