  • *Dedicated to iClean Carwash Technologies for helping create fantastic Hanna tunnels at, among other places, iClean Deventer and De Wasdas Veendam*
*UPDATE: This tunnel was replaced with a Ryko SoftGloss MAXX with a freestanding rinse system*
This old Hanna mini-tunnel is the longest of San Francisco's true automatic car washes. It primarily uses Hanna-Sherman equipment, but recently some Ryko arches were added. Notably, their wraps have been upgraded with a foam material (likely NeoGlide) and the passenger side wrap assembly does not work properly. Drying quality was very poor (which seems to be common for Coleman Hanna floor-mounted dryers).
All of its support equipment was in the tunnel rather than in a back room.

Nothing more than a soft cloth tunnel wash!

I just realized that the 2nd mitter curtain is sometimes what Coleman Hanna steals and uses. I’ve seen it before.

Coleman Hanna kept producing the Diagonal Touch mitter after the merge with the Jim Coleman company. They are rare to see because the necessary space is roughly that of the Finishing Touch mitter, which provides better cleaning and more complete top surface contact.

Awesome video!!! I love the double perspective!
Unfortunately none of this equipment was manufactured by the original Hanna Industries. This is all built by Hanna- Sherman International. Hanna only built "Canopy" tunnels. Also, those dryers are actually Hanna Jim-Coleman Concordes. not that old of a model.

No wonder the structure looked a lot like a HSI system. However, the arches, as I recall, were marked as Hanna ones, not HSI. Could mean they had an 80's Hanna and they replaced it in the 90s.

HSI Used Hanna branding. Those arches are designed by hanna sherman as well.

Why do they call those Concorde dryers! They should be called Concorde water relocators.

These dryers sound the same as Charles and George’s car wash 2nd location.

Interesting how the arm for the passenger side wrap extends a bit far out. I visited an Autobell in Charlotte back in Summer of 2021 and the wraps looked like the had the same design as the ones in this video, but they weren't in their retracted position when there were no cars going through the tunnel (they were hydraulic I'm assuming.)

yes I remember watching a tunnel in operation that had a Hanna circular mitter. I've never seen another one like it though.

@@JyroOne I know San Francisco had another mini tunnel just like this one, and Valejo used to have one at a Shell Station too.
