I have followed you for some time, but this is one of the most informative and *cleverly presented* technical videos I have seen in a long while. Keep up the good work, sir!
This one is *dense* with Tips… much to consider/try here. But speaking of ‘Tips’: Chris, have you tried any of the 3rd party (physical) replacement Tips for the pencil? If found Paperlike’s recent ‘Pencil Tips’ a slightly incremental improvement of physical resistance/drag when combined with their screen protector. The ‘Rock Paper Pencil’ (tip+protector) had an even better feel, but their (optical) viewing quality was just garbage I had to go back to Paperlike protector. However, I found the RPP Tip + Paperlike protector the best compromise in drawing experience. But, I fear that b/c the RPP tip is metal (even tho smooth) it may shorten the Paperlike protector lifetime… am testing that to see. So, maybe the Paperlike Tip+protector is the best combo… TBD. Anyway, wld be great to hear your thoughts someday if u ever geek w/ it…
Thanks. I had not thought of using squeeze for shortcuts. I immediately set mine up to open a quick note. I’m always having to jot something down and that alone makes the Apple Pencil Pro worth the money.
hey Chris - thanks for the great video! do you know why there's a dotted blue line under (some) handwritten words in Apple Notes? couldn't find a Pencil or notes Setting to turn this off. Anyway, Thanks for all your great content!
This is Apple’s new handwriting spell check. Although I’ve noticed that even if you spell a word right and just wrote it a little sloppy, then it still marks it as spelled wrong. That’s why when you tap those words it will suggest the right one to fix it with, but in my experience, that doesn’t work too well either. As far as I know, you can’t turn it off
i am in love with squeeze now i cant live without it. use squeeze as an eraser, if you are like me who erases every stroke so often like every other second till i get the satisfying result then you better not enable only hover feature be it for double tap or squeeze.
Scribble is how I am able to handwrite journal entries into Day 1. Its a little finnicky but once you use it enough you figure out its quirks and it works good. None of the good journal apps support native handwriting so scribble is the way

I love Freeform, but my biggest problem right now is that is eats the battery lightning fast and the iPad gets very hot in the center of the screen.

I do not like scribble, but I have never thought of looking in settings. I will be turning it off .
💯 Freeform! 👏🏼
Good stuff! 🙏🏼
FCP got haptic updates too!
Hate scribble
