I am an old man, raised on Broonzy, Johnson, Eaglin, Leadbelly, Ray Charles and suchlike. Not much has come down the Pike since then to move me at first hearing the way those source singers did - that is until Lone Bellow showed up. they are authentic in a way that defies description and I can only thank them for the joy they bring. Now they must survive the vicissitudes of fame and greedy acolytes. For all our sakes I pray they can hold out, stay happy and keep the flame. with love, respect and thanks . . .
NPR put's it beautifully: "But if The Lone Bellow breaks big, which seems like a decent possibility, it'll be with songs of survival and redemption, written out of necessity rather than opportunity."
THEY JUST TOOK ME TO CHURCH BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!!! I’m sweatin with him! How can something be SO GOOD and not be more widely known?????? Damn! I’m out of breath watchin and listening y’all ! 😅🙏
song ends: "you got it that time". My response "Yeah, you sure ****ing did". Whew! Pure talent all around. I can't wait for more material from this band.
Just heard this cut on CBC radio. Had to stop everything to listen, and I am a professional musician and producer these thirty years and more. Wow. So good.
+Tharon Lawson Hahaha :) There's really so much good music out there (and bad) that it is hard for the best to cut through the noise and get the plays they deserve.
This song is gospel-funk-country at its best. It is what I crave when I (and buddies are) am chilling. The Lone Bellow - you are god damn musical geniuses.
Your music, this song, this album...replanted the seed to play. It took me a long while since, but I've been playing almost every day the last couple years. Thank you with all my heart.
Wow. Just when you thought there was never going to be any more good "new" music... such a refreshing infusion of old and new, blues, folk, etc comes to life here! Very raw, no computer electronic fake pop music. Excellent!
This is just the greatest! Such passion and beauty! I love how the middle singer basically loses himself, and then snaps 'awake' after the song is finished! More people need to know about this great music!!
Saw them on PBS clip in Boston, and that one song had me hooked. They are infectious with their energy, passion, soul. i can't even classify their style -- other than FANTASTIC! Bluesy is the best I can come up with. Haven't listened to any group recently that makes me go searching for them.
every time i hear this i harmonize and belt it out. even if i'm in public. I LOVE how the video is just them actually playing and vocally performing live...beautiful.... "You could calm a storm with your tone And the way you sing, makes the mocking bird hold The grass you walk on, gives way Saying please, please, come back this way"
absolutely loved every single element of this. from the harmonies, to the choice of instruments, the lyrics of the song, the emotion, director's vision and overall passion for creating. beautiful!
How did I not know of this band before? I've been listening to Tenth Avenue North for years, and I can't believe Mike's sister had a great band like that and I never looked it up. I should've found this sooner!
Only heard a bit of this song while watching The Walking Dead and it immediately grabbed at me. Can't stop listening. Hope to see them live someday. Amazing how a song can make you weep and smile at the same time.
Jese this guy sings with such EMOTION. He's dripping with sweat by the end of this video. I can practically feel him screaming at my face right in front of me. But hey, that's what makes him/them AWESOME.
Whenever I see the lead singer of a group have a look on his or her face like they are just about to go over the big hill on a rollercoaster, just before they break into some epic chorus...I know the shit is gonna be good. 1:071:573:35 for reference. The dude is pouring it all on. Full Steam. So good.
Heard this band when they opened for Brandi Carlile. They certainly gained fans and praise(well deserved) and they're a great compliment to Brandi's style. I wish they would stick with Brandi in future shows because both bands compliment each other so well. The show was amazing!
Saw them at the Buckle Up Music Festival in Cincinnati last year. Have both Albums and plan on seeing them the 2 times they are scheduled to come to town this year. Great Tunes, Harmony and Heart. Love these Guys.
I like the raw "live" session approach, it very effectively conveys the power. But what I really REALLY like is your Tiny Desk Concert set -- that thing is even more raw (recorded with 1 stereo mic), and I think the performance really shines. Thanks for sharing your music!
I never quite got how bands like the Lumineers and Mumford & Sons catapulted to the spotlight stratosphere, while these guys still play relatively smaller venues.

Why isn't this song on the radio? I saw this band on a PBS special and got upset because I'd never heard of them before.
8 years later and I still listen to this song 50 times a Mounth
Now THIS is Country Music.

With bands like this, my faith in music is returning.

I stumbled upon Dried Up River… fell in love instantly and now there isn’t a day that goes by I don’t play their music. True Gems!
This song is gospel-funk-country at its best. It is what I crave when I (and buddies are) am chilling. The Lone Bellow - you are god damn musical geniuses.
Absolutely beautiful
"You could calm a storm with your tone
Yeah the way you sing makes a mockingbird hum" Love it!
Aching, poetic expression of love or lust or total admiration delivered beautifully by masters. Absolute treat.
Brilliance
He's lost, lost inside the music. Nothing else matters until he comes back out of it at 4:46. Amazing.
Your music, this song, this album...replanted the seed to play. It took me a long while since, but I've been playing almost every day the last couple years. Thank you with all my heart.

Hadn't heard of the band, but going to see them in Glasgow tonight as part of Celtic Connections. Gonna be a good one.

i love the self awareness at the end.
They have the BEST Live show ever. So much energy and electricity flowing through the crowd! I could listen forever.
Love, love, love their music!
This right here, this is talent. So much passion driven into this song. Beautiful
When you listen to good music all you can do is smile
These guys are about 500 times better live! I wish they had an mp3 recording of this session!

The harmonies are spot on. Fantastic song by fantastic people 💚👌
Keep up the live recordings! Those of us who love music will never get tired of them!
I can make this one short and sweet. We are looking at next years multiple Grammy winners. This is amazing. Bravo!
Chills....chills....chills....is just me or is real soulful (regardless of genre) making a comeback back to the masses??? Me thinks so! :)
I still to this day can't get enough of this song.
This guy voice is incredible u don't find voices like this often WOW!

How did I not know of this band before? I've been listening to Tenth Avenue North for years, and I can't believe Mike's sister had a great band like that and I never looked it up. I should've found this sooner!
This band is new to me, EXCELLENT. So glad I found them here.
I love this. Chills up and down my spine every time I listen to it.
Chills EVERY TIME.
What a decade it has been
This guy will be a grammy award winner soon enough. What a fabulous voice and sound. An overnight favorite.

I heard these guys on Conan sing this song..That was the best performance I've ever heard on a late night show.
I can not wait to see them Live at Baltimore Sound Stage! Just got FRONT row tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This can't get any better.
Never before have I found such a captivating, goosebumpy, tear jerking live performance on youtube. And I have listened to my fair share of them.
Great show last night in Chicago! Thanks for a wonderful night
Saw on Conan, got chills. Couldn't get their song out of my head. Bought the album a week later.
Only heard a bit of this song while watching The Walking Dead and it immediately grabbed at me. Can't stop listening. Hope to see them live someday. Amazing how a song can make you weep and smile at the same time.
Saw them at the Ryman open for Dwight Yaokam. They blew the audience away. Standing ovation.
Heard them in Bangor, ME last night, they rocked it, so good in concert.
My favorite Song , Love it just Love it.
they should have put that performance on the album cause it's better than the version of this song that's on their album.
+chuckwest28 Some of the songs on the album don't compare to the these sessions, you're right

Listened to less than 30 seconds and already had chills
their popularity will spread like wildfire.. don't know why it hasn't already. pretty fantastic
American music at it's finest! Poignant and austere. So happy to see and hear this music thriving in today's society.
Heard this band when they opened for Brandi Carlile. They certainly gained fans and praise(well deserved) and they're a great compliment to Brandi's style. I wish they would stick with Brandi in future shows because both bands compliment each other so well. The show was amazing!
That accordion is a beautiful touch.
Saw them at the Buckle Up Music Festival in Cincinnati last year. Have both Albums and plan on seeing them the 2 times they are scheduled to come to town this year. Great Tunes, Harmony and Heart. Love these Guys.

Unbelievable. Love this, send this around the planet, NOW!
Unreal. Tragic I’m just hearing you guys for the first time today.
I like the raw "live" session approach, it very effectively conveys the power. But what I really REALLY like is your Tiny Desk Concert set -- that thing is even more raw (recorded with 1 stereo mic), and I think the performance really shines. Thanks for sharing your music!
Me too.. Had to look them up! So great to see music like this become more popular. Conan almost always has great music guests!
