    LURE FISHING FOR CARP?
I was out lure fishing and i noticed that the carp were feeding on catapillars and bugs falling from the trees.
I had some chub bug lures with me... and it got me thinking, can you catch carp on lures?

Great work pal and great video .. when I go to my local pond I do some dropshotting with artificial bread on the hook great way to catch them higher up in the water

Those 'sleep and beep' guy give carp fishing a bad name in my opinion. Fishing for carp can be as much fun as any other fish. I like to catch them on the fly, using half inch sections of the white elastic from the ubiquitous face masks we're all wearing at the moment burned at one end, to make a head, with a cigarette lighter, and superglued to a sized 8 hook. It works fine. Many thanks for even more ideas. Ray

Sounds great... ive been thinking of doing a bit of flyfishing for the carp myself. I sold my 8wt, so its a 5wt... i recon I could take down a mid sized double!

Way to go buddy !! Catching any fish on ultralight lures is the way to go for... especially large fish that you would associate with lure fishing. Well done 👍🏽... love it !!!!!!! 😀😀😀😀🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

I've been catching carp this year on 2500 size reels and 25g spinning or casting rods. Makes the fairly disappointing carp fights more interesting. Best so far 23lbs 9oz

It was good fun. The 2500 reels I have are actually very capable. Max 22lbs of drag. 150 yards of 12lb line. Only limit is casting distance. The carp pulled some drag for a while. Had a good run of the lake.
Like you I bought lures to try for carp. I got boxes and boxes of various insects etc. Unfortunately I didn't have as much patience as you. I'm yet to catch a carp on a lure. I tried some floating. Some with drop shot. Some texas rigs carolina rigs etc.
I got alot of inspiration from this video

Great video and well done for sticking at it. I think if you failed, most carp anglers would think you were mad 😃

It's really floater fishing rather than lure fishing as your not moving it , the carp just see it as a piece of bread or dog biscuit to be honest but good fun

They were taking bugs that were coming off the trees, so I guess its like dry fly fishing
