Hi, My son has studied bachelor's in human movement and public health at Macquarie University Sydney, Australia. he completed his degree in July 2022 after which he opted for a TR for 2 years. he wishes to continue his education in Australia with a Master's in Physiotherapy or a Doctor in Physiotherapy (offered in Macquarie). he wishes to apply for PR immediately after since he is not eligible for a second TR.
My question is: 1. Can he apply for PR immediately after his course is completed or does he have to have work experience in the field before doing so?
2. If he does require work experience in the field, what are the alternative options so he does not have to leave Australia?

Just an update or correction you can say... For Masters of Physiotherapy programme the min req is not 70% for all universities. As far as I know 70% criteria is for the group of 8 or the top 8 universities in Australia. You can cross check this if you want just to be sure...

Yes , IELTS you have to get minimum 6.5 for confirm Admisison

It is MCQ based exam, related to real life case scenario. To prepare for it I would suggest you first learn basics from Susan o Sullivan , David Magee , Cynthia norkin, mainly related to assessment and conditions. After that you can start looking for some paid applications and academy who provide material related to Australian physiotherapy exam.

Hi sir, I have a question. Sports physiotherapy program in Australia is of 1year but for PSW we need 2 year program. So I am not able to understand how to take admission ? Also if we do general MPT then with that course can we work as a sports therapist with sports team?
As foreign physiotherapist , it is always advisable to go for 2 years course. And about working as a sports physio, if you gain experience in the field. No one can stop you working as one

Hi Physio Trendz, Thank you providing insights for the Physiotherapy profession in Australia. Just wondering, similar to nursing is it easy to land up in a permanent role for physiotherapists too ? Any ideas or thoughts. As per my knowledge, when a permanent nurse calls in sick, the organisation hires another registered nurse through an agency to replace the permanent nurse' shift for that day. So, a registered nurse lacking local experience could get footprint in that sector. Does that apply to physiotherapists too? Similarly, are there any 2 years course in Australia for individuals who do not have any qualification related to health science to become a registered physiotherapist? Thank you

Well I would say as they ask for fees payment before starting your education, you will have to pay the fees and yeah with part time work or lil extra efforts within 3 years you can repay your loan. Also consider your expenses while staying in Australia .
Another thing yes you can directly work as a physio if you have cleared Australian Physiotherapy exam.

Hello, criteria to get direct admission in masters degree for Australia is different. You must have average of 70% in your BPT and other requirement any by university. And yes if you study masters from Australia you won’t need to appear for license exam

1st one you need to clear Theory and Clinical license exams before you can apply for PR directly… To convert work visa to PR wait time is 3 years not 2 years… before doing these videos.. make sure you research about the topic completely

My wife has a BPT and currently working in KSA. She has cleared academic PTE and also cleared interim certificate where she can work under supervision of Physical Therapy. She needs a sponsorship. However she has attended four interviews and all they say is you have been selected but we want you in Australia for getting the sponsorship. My question is what is the best option to do here. We are planning to come on student visa? But very expensive. Is there any other option for us to enter Australia apart from students
Hello, I can understand your problem. But in this situation possible things you can do are
1) you go as a visitor to Australia , confirm the job and convert your visa to work visa. Now that will be done only for your wife so you will have to get dependent visa on her status or you also can find a work in your field and get work visa. After 2 years you will be eligible to apply for PR status.
2) keep looking for sponsors who are ready to give you work visa status from india it self. And that way you will not have problems of converting your visa status
3) as you suggested Studnet visa can be an option but for that expenses plus visa guarantee are two factors
