Hg is the symbol for Mercury in the periodic table. I think Saucony are being creative here by referencing the Roman God Mercury who had "winged feet". Essentially they are saying the new foam will put wings on your feet. Nice!
The shoe I’m most excited for changed the moment you started talking about the Prime X Strung 2, especially with the way you were both grinning ear to ear. Until then, I picked up the Gel Nimbus 25 a week ago and have 3 runs/20 miles on it so far and am loving it for recovery and easy runs.
With all the great deals that went on in Nov and Dec, I'm maxed out with running shoes on the front porch, garage, and the closets. I think I'm well set for the next two years! That being said, I can always make room for a few more in the coming year. As of now, the only shoes that really interest me are: Prime X Strung 2 Invincible Run 3 Boston 12 NB SC Trail I absolutely love the Prime X Strung. This shoe has already changed running for me. After getting my first pair at full price a little after it came out, I hoarded four more pairs at the half-off discount price in Nov/Dec. These will last me two years easy. Still won't be able to resist the PXS 2. Seems like another level up.
I’m most excited about having a great running calendar and saving a load of cash by not buying any of these new shoes this year! Once they are on sale in 2024 and I need some new shoes, I may buy one of them. Seriously $300 for a pair of shoes is bonkers 🤣🤣🤣
I’m with ya. Unless something really trips my fancy, or the newer model is waaaay better I’m all for buying last years model. I’m not sure if this actually saves me money though, it just allows me to get more shoes lol.
The only urge I feel is if I really like a certain colorway (that Mizuno looks sooo good, IMO) and want it before it sells out. But otherwise you’re absolutely correct
My guy Robbie shouting out the Skechers! I’m loving the Maxroad 6 and Speedbeast. Ride 11 is sweet but not enough miles to comment yet. Love this video well done lads
The designer intention behind the Speed Beast seemed really interesting. I noticed the spec weight of 8.8 oz though, which puts it heavier than MaxRoad 5. Not that Endorphin Speed is bad by any means, but was it more like that, or something that feels legit for the sub-2:45 range?
Reeaaaaally curious about that Prime X Strung v2. What are they putting in? springs? triple carbon plate layer? For $300 better be something really special I hope.
The Craft Endurance Pro, which I don’t think you reviewed, has a great foam. It’s PEBA, without a plate, and is a ton of fun. (The upper still isn’t great.) I’m looking forward to these new ones.
Co-sign. Seems like the second tier Craft models have actually been more dialed than the plated models that they've tended to put in reviewers' hands. I have and love the CTM Ultra 2s. Significantly lighter and smoother than a lot of daily trainers I've run in recently, even compared with many models that are NOT set up as road-trail hybrids. I also agree the weakness has been a messy forefoot upper. (I would also prefer a little less heel-toe drop but that's just me.)
I haven't tried a Skechers shoe since the Razor 3 so I'm interested in how the Hyperburst Ice midsole is gonna turn out. I'm also intrigued by what I'm hearing about This years Boston from Adidas.
I'm kind of surprised that the reception of the SC Trainer was generally positive. My legs felt like some massive grandfather clock pendulums in them - I think they were by far the heaviest shoes that I've worn, and I loathed that sensation. The RC v2's on the other hand were so light and cushioned, great long run/marathon shoes.
My wish about the Prime X Strung (not prediction since it seems unlikely with the “rule-breaker” insinuation) is that adidas achieves the same or better performance with a lower stack height, through whatever means possible. I’m sure I’m wrong about this.
I bought two pairs of turbo second version, one gave its life for my runs, so I only use them for walks with my pup and errands. My other pair has 240 miles. I been waiting for something similar. Hope this Vomero guy is it. I should’ve bought more pairs of Turbos😢
Going to be nice to give those Prime X Strung (V)2 IF....they are actually available...the first version was/ hardly ever available. That said.. the SC Trainer 2 being lighter may just be THE marathon shoe of 2023
The Asic Superblast, is hands down my favorite daily trainer for everything from short 3 mile runs to my longs runs on the weekend. Definitely helps that I can pick them up with a 50% military discount, but the light weight responsive, firm yet soft ride is what I have been looking for since I started running!
Looking forward to Vomero 17 curious to see how zoomx will feel with a new design. It's surprising that Floatzig from Reebok didn't get a mention which is the most anticipated shoe of the brand. Hope they didn't push the release to 2024.
Conspicuously absent is Brooks. I know you guys have reviewed the Hyperion Max (which looks promising), but Brooks really needs a reboot of their whole training line. If ASICS can do it, maybe Brooks can. And while DNA Flash was a competitive performance foam a couple years ago-and should be kept for sure-I think Brooks is going to fall behind in the elite racer category for not having a Peba-based midsole. Maybe 2024 will be Brooks’ year… 🤷♂️
I could not agree more. I used to exclusively run in Brooks, but this year I bought three pairs of Saucony instead because they just feel better. I would have loved to stand by Brooks forever, but they're just not releasing anything as exciting or innovative as of late.
@@scottwoodcock2779 Your guess is a LOT more interesting than mine! I thought of it as something maybe like the Zoom pod on the Alphafly - a material with very different properties to the surrounding foam.
The SCT loses stack, but doesn't it have softer midsole? Stack is not equal to cushion. Max Road 6 is very exciting, except the weight gain is not. Put the SpeedBeast upper (and no stiff winglet plate) on it and have the best trainer of the year!
I fell for the PrimeX sensationalism the first time. I'll bide my time and see what transpires before spending that much money THIS time! Had to return V1 because it hurt my hips so much.
Hg in the elemental sense is Mercury, which reference hop to Mercury the closest planet to sun making this version on PWRRun HG foam a HAWT one out on the streets
Skechers offerings (the whole 3 of them) look great this year. Curious if the new Ride or Speed Beast can replace Max Road 5's role as the fast long run shoes. I wish they can do away with juvenile upper print, or the massive "SPEED" graffiti on the side. Maybe not this year, but we can hope!
Nick Bare’s latest video… Hybrid Cut… he’s wearing the new Sock-e-knee, Sock-uh-knee, Suck-on-me….don’t think that last one works but 🤷🏻♂️… my poor attempt at humor… but he’s wearing the new Saucony Endorphin Elite at the beginning of his video. Looks like a lot of people were sent these to try on and review. I saw someone in Reston Town Center in VA running in them. Can’t wait for them.
Any ideas when the Boston 12 will be released? I ran in versions 5-9 as my do everything shoe and really looking forward to the 12 after seeing some leaked images.
@@casillasj2002 if you're only used to running with 12mm drop maybe take it slowly with your mileage on lower drop shoes. i have high cushioned shoes with 8mm drop like endorphin pro 3 and other shoes with different drop. twice a week i also run completely barefoot, 15km each time. i don't even notice the difference between different drops though i never had 12mm. puma liberate nitro was my highest drop i think it was 10mm
