Honestly, can’t bring myself to feel disturbed by these “cities”. For being static, simple blocks with rudimentary architecture, something about them just feels so… Alive. Like you could leave it be and while nothing might happen, it still could be lived in. It’s almost serene, really.
@@Senselessdogruffruff"Been building these for 7 years. I call them 'cities', the world is covered in them". "I call them 'cities'" implies they've been randomly building them and happened to call them that because of the way they look. Like, those aren't meant to be cities, they just call them that. So they've been building these strange pillars for no reason for 7 YEARS to the point that a big part of the world is covered in them. That's ominous, that's not something players usually show off about their world, it's odd behaviour in general cause they've been building it for almost a decade. It's understandable that people are weirded out by that (+ the sounds set the mood)
It's because of the way they worded the title, it sounds unnatural and deranged. If they had written something like: "I've been building these tiny cities across my world for the past 7 years, they look cool." Nobody would've batted an eye, although that still doesn't excuse spending seven years of your life stacking blocks in MC.
I THINK EXACTLY THE SAME THING. This makes me feel stuff. It's... comforting. In a way. I bet it's also stress relieving to build it. Building something, not knowing exactly why, just following a pattern... it's a concept that evokes peace when i think about it.
The same user who posted this also said (in the comments of the post) that they tried burning the city down but the fires stopped burning before even a chunk of the city became ash. My brother says you can easily turn it into a metaphor for how fragile yet unshakable human civilization is. And I agree with him
This straight out scares me, i recently saw a episode of a spanish youtuber called farfadox, the episode is he playing the betas after having reached the farlands, and there are weird things happening in the world, shadows, entities, buildings, and one weird one was he exiting the nether via another portal and then something like this appears, he walks a while and finds a book, the he decides to leave and break the portal, and the place is exactly like the one of this video, so this kinda scares me

Y’all calling them crazy but this can be seen as a critique of architecture. Like look at how lifeless and sad this looks. This is how most of our cities look now, shiny columns pretty much. Look back at history - cathedrals are literal world wonders built by illiterate serfs. I feel bad for the state of our architecture now.
This would make for an amazing world generation mod. Just imagine exploring at night and finding a city like this. Maybe the music changes pitch as well upon entering it, or maybe stops completely.
This feels like a weird post-modern art piece, that's trying to make some sort of abstract commentary about the evils of humanity, and how we should all go back to living in trees 😂
I mean i made a city for like 5 years in a normal world(not flat), after a while it got quite discomforting so i put villagers cats a golem etc. and it got cozt again. And after a while i started to dream i was living in it communicating with villagers etc. Was i going crazy or just being too lonely in pandemic times?
Well you spent 5 years doing it, so It's normal I guess. I remember how I played mc 1.8 when I was 13, did mostly the same things, like roleplaying as a citizen in a flat world. It was too scary for me to play in a normal world, I didn't really knew anything about the game so decided to learn some mechanics at first, I really liked decorating villager's houses and spawning dozens of zombies to see what happens to the village. Covered it in lava etc. I were really evil.
Well you see, if we count the Y height of each tower, we sum all of the heights into a single number. Then we place every letter of the word "cities" in a random order inbetween numbers we can get a Base64 code which when we decode gives us a morse code that when translated sends us a link to a hidden youtube video. (I'm not being serious don't waste your time doing this)
