Metal was born in the steel manufacturing areas of mid north England. Birmingham is where Sabbath and Priest were born. So l think you find that their influence comes from these bands, and Deep purple, rainbow later Iron Maiden etc. So glad you like them but not sure can claim the US had any huge influence on them.

Thanks for the reaction! LOVEBITES are the GODDESSES of heavy , power , thrash metal ! In 2018 , LOVEBITES won the prestigious Metal Hammer GOLDEN GODS Award for "Best New Band" (London,UK). The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians, such as : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy (and this is not a complete list).
LOVEBITES is a Japanese female power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass, backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). The band has successfully performed at various major international rock-festivals many times .In the spring of 2018, LOVEBITES performed on the Japanese leg of the Warped Tour. In August 2018, they performed at Wacken Open Air (Germany), becoming the first Japanese female rock band to perform at the festival. Also in August 2018 they performed on the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air (UK). In 2019, LOVEBITES performed at the Download Festival in both Donington (UK) and Madrid (Spain). Their performance in Donington was named by the festival organizers and Metal Hammer magazine as one of the highlights of the festival! In the same year they performed at the Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) and the Summer Sonic Festival (Japan). Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic that began in 2020 prevents LOVEBITES from performing at festivals and forced a drastic reduction of concerts.
LOVEBITES is a phenomenal band, all the ladies are talented musicians! For 5 years they have recorded about 50 songs and all the songs are very good!
🐺Miho - bass, backing vocals (in August 2021 she left the band).
    🐺Haruna - drums.
    🐺Midori - guitars, backing vocals.
🐺Miyako (Mi-Ya)- guitars, piano, keyboards, backing vocals.
    🐺Asami - lead vocals, piano.
🐺Miho started playing bass in high school. Great bass player! The fact that such a wonderful band appeared is, first of all, the merit of Miho. She came up with the idea of starting a band and what kind of music the band would play, a combination of power metal and "old school" heavy metal. Miho was able to find and unite all these talented ladies in LOVEBITES.
🐺Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, and began writing songs on a keyboard at fourteen.
Haruna is the smallest (4 '9 ") , but appearances are deceiving. When Haruna sits down at the drums, this is the "little BIG Engine." She is one of the best drummers in Japan.
🐺Midori (blond hair) has been playing the piano since she was two years old and the electric organ since she was eight. She started studying guitar at the age of 20. Super guitarist, "Crazy Shredder". She surpasses many male guitarists in speed and technique of playing the guitar.
Graduated from ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka , GIT-DX department (superfast guitar department). ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka is an international music school , headquartered in Hollywood, California, USA.
🐺Miyako (black hair) has been playing the piano since the age of three, received a classical education (piano) and wanted to pursue a career as a pianist. She has been playing the guitar since the age of 18. Super guitarist! They call her "The Golden Touch" and she is a real musical genius. Miyako is the main composer of the band, she wrote over 50% of the music.
    * In terms of teamwork , synchronization and harmonization of guitars , Midori and Miyako today are perhaps the best pair of guitarists in the world playing metal. One music critic said that two guitarists of this level (Midori and Miyako) in the same band is a crime!😊
🐺Asami started with R&B and soul music . She studied classical ballet for about 16 years (this is noticeable in her movements on stage, especially the movements of her hands). Started ballet lessons at the age of two. After leaving school, Asami lived for some time in the US, where she came to study jazz and hip hop dance. Plays the piano. Asami wrote most of the lyrics of the band's songs.
All songs LOVEBITES are written in English. Unlike other metal bands, LOVEBITES are always on stage in white dresses . White dresses are their style. The Wolf is the mascot of LOVEBITES and is featured on all band's albums except the first EP "The Lovebites". The band's fans call themselves the 🐺Wolfpack🐺

They have no flaws Musically nor Performance wise. Energy, Class, Beauty and Professor level Applied music theory. What sets them apart is the Contrast of what you see with what you hear. Whoa! Great reaction but one thing I have to pull you up on. What do these bands all have in common.... Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest? One they are all the pioneers of heavy metal, two they are all British! The US didn't export heavy metal to Japan... the UK did that. One of Lovebites's greatest influences is Iron Maiden, arguably the most famous metal band on the planet. Iron Maiden are English not American. Japan has had a metal movement ever since Deep Purple played there in 1972 so for an American to claim the cultural heritage of Japan's heavy metal scene is risible.

Other people's recommended songs may differ from each other.
However, the common point that everyone says is the fact that "everything is a masterpiece and there is not a single bad work!"
Also, it doesn't matter if metal originated in America or England. i don't care.
Because the bands they like are Metallica, Halloween, Underground, Maiden, Priest, Dragon Force, etc. They are not all from the same country.
Many Japanese people think that metal originated in Finland.
Japan is a country that "takes in various foreign cultures, mixes them, develops them independently, and remakes them into things that have never been seen before."

Welcome to the Wolfpack ]:) Today you have been Lovebitten next should be a more ballad style song that showcases the singer Asami's R&B Background her voice is amazing on this song, Miyako starts on Piano and then moves to her Guitar for a very moving Gary Moore style solo which leads back to Asami singing one line that leads to the song picking up and changing speed then Midori gets her guitar solo while Haruna pounds the drums as if they stole her boyfriend and she wants him back. Sadly the Bassist and Founder Miho in 2021 left the band she's solid on this song keeping the rhythm her replacement Fami will have big shoes to fill. here's Lovebites Edge of The World th-cam.com/video/UZjxMjBop7w/w-d-xo.html

End of 2020 I Stumbled upon a song called "Rising" by a band named LOVEBITES...that same feeling of jubilation I felt as a young man listening to Rust in Peace occurred....it appears decades later the metal gods had sent me another gift 🐺

In 2015 after super band Destrose broke up their Bassist Miho along with Destrose co member Haruna the drummer formed Lovebites and recruited Guitarist Midori (Blonde Shredder) and Miyako on Guitar/Piano (The Golden Touch) then they came accross an R&B Singer Asami who impressed Miho after hearing her demo. so Asami learned to sing power metal I think she sounds like a female Bruce Dickinson. They were inspired by the 80-90's British Metal Bands Like Iron Maiden,Judas Priest,Helloween,Slayer and many others. Since 2017 they have 3 albums,4 EP's and 4 Live albums and a compilation of greatest songs. They can sound like Slayer one moment, Iron Maiden the next then throw in Classical Piano and have Classical with metal. In 2018 they won the Metal Hammer Golden God award for best new band in London an award previously won by bands like Anthrax and Avenged Sevenfold. another great piece to listen to is Swan Song with Chopin Intro where Miyako has incorporated Chopin's revolutionary etude as a prequel to Swan Song where she leaves the piano and gets on her Guitar Asami wrote the lyrics with the Chopin revolutionary etude in mind that failed november revolution in Poland and they honor those who died fighting. at the end as Midori is doing her solo Miyako sneakily makes her way back to the Piano and joins in with Midori's solo on Piano Midori soon abruptly stops followed by the band a moment later stopping and Miyako is left playing a piece of Dvorak new world symphony as an outtro. You’ve struck musical gold. As a Brit (in name only) I must point out that it was the U.K. that exported metal to everyone else, and in the case of Japan, it was Deep Purple that lit their particular flame a decade earlier. But the girls main influences are bands from Europe, namely (but not exclusively) Maiden, Priest, Helloween. Stage left guitarist is a classically trained pianist and uses her background in her writing. Until age 18 she was destined for a future career performing Chopin, Rachmaninov and Beethoven. Then she taught herself the guitar, hence her fluent tapping technique. But her mom was a fan of Purple and Rainbow and she was inculcated with the Lord God Ritchie Blackmore from an early age. This band is the most talented collective of musicians my 63 year stretch has ever seen and heard. Two years ago I had no idea they existed. Now, I have no idea anything else exists! Great reaction. You may now close your mouth…😂

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Lovebites is one of the best bands in our country. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock meaning we imported it earlier from your country 😄 .

Not to rain on your parade, but metal was originally British: Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden... Actually, Lovebites admire Britain for being the motherland of metal, as reflected in their song Golden Destination, honoring a tour in the UK.
In this video, they are all in their late twenties or early thirties. They have another bass player now who is in fact 20, but they still don't look significantly older than her. Asian women do age more slowly, it seems.
No, they're not sisters, although Stage Right (Midori) and Stage Left (Miyako) occasionally do refer to each other as "my shred sister". However, they are both from Osaka (Japan's most relaxed big city), or at least went to college there.

For some reason, Americans believe that all the best appeared in America. 😊You are a nice, interesting couple of reactors but, I'm sorry, heavy music originated in ....... the UK. 🤗Hard-rock first appeared (in the late 60s - early 70s), and then metal (in the late 70s and early 80s.) : Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep,Nazareth, Judas Priest, Saxon ,Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Def Leppard and etc. are all British bands.
As for Japan, already in the 70-80s there were a lot of metal bands in Japan. In a sense, Japan is a "closed country" for Europeans and Americans (in terms of music). Most Europeans and Americans do not even suspect that if you take the average Japanese musician, then his technique and mastery of musical instruments is higher than that of the average European or American musician. What is considered unique in Europe or America is the norm in Japan.
Music training for Japanese children often begins in kindergarten, and at school, children are already required to learn to play musical instruments. This is included in the school curriculum. The innate industriousness of the Japanese, the system of upbringing and education, as well as the early development of musical instruments by children (often from 2-3 years old), etc. allows you to reveal the talents of children so that they become highly professional musicians.
It is very interesting and pleasant to watch your reaction.👏👍 I probably sat with the same face as you when I first saw Japanese metal.🤭

Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence thus far, they have easily put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out:
“Set the World on Fire” th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html and “Don’t Bite the Dust” th-cam.com/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/w-d-xo.html, from their recently released concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”.
"Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: th-cam.com/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/w-d-xo.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope.
Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: th-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/w-d-xo.html
Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: th-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/w-d-xo.html.
For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” th-cam.com/video/G021aP2ao6Y/w-d-xo.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M.
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” th-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/w-d-xo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
Finally, while you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular:
    "Shadowmaker" th-cam.com/video/Brmoln5Gxus/w-d-xo.html
This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world
    "When Destinies Align" th-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/w-d-xo.html
    "Glory to the World" th-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/w-d-xo.html
    "Winds of Transylvania" th-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/w-d-xo.html.
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Damn, the other comments have already said everything I was going to say. Anyway, I love this band and never get tired of listening to them. I have their entire discography and enjoy every song. Now that added their new bass guitarist, Fami, I'm excited for their future and would love to see them live. If you'd like to see another of their songs similar to this, "Glory to the World," "Shadowmaker," or "Addicted" are all great choices. If you'd like to see something a little different, "Swan Song," "Empty Daydream," and "Edge of the World" are all worth watching.

I stumbled upon them 2 years ago and can't get enough of them, and to answer your question regarding age they are all in their early 30's except their new bassist (Fami) who is 20. The band are... LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics:
Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood
People live in fear, covered in mud
Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for sisters
There is a thousand, a thousand of evils
Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for brothers
    Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
    Into the Eye of Heaven
    Eagles at a holy war
    Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and all for one forevermore
    SOLO: midori
Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall
    Reincarnation, wait for your call
Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for sisters
    Morning star and dying moon
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Mighty soul, let there be hope
    Into the Eye of Heaven
    Eagles at a holy war
    Fly higher than the sun
Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for
Only have one thing on our mind
    Facing the fate, holy war
SOLO: miyako / midori / both
Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty
    We are the metal warriors
    Fighting the darkness for brothers
    Shining blade and burning heart
Into the Gates of Hell we march
Immortal soul, let there be light
    Into the Eye of Heaven
    Eagles at a holy war
    Fly higher than the sun
We are one for all and all for one forevermore
What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight?
But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for

It's just talent, musicianship and professionalism. The bassist, Miho, band founder, wrote this song with their producer Moa. Unfortunately Miho has left the band. The new bassist is Fami, hugely talented.
These ladies are in their early 30's!! They all write songs with Miyako, black hair guitarist, has written about half of their songs with Asami, vocals, writing the lyrics. Midori, blond ponytail, left pharmacy school and began playing the guitar at 20yo. Haruna, drums, is a superb drummer one of the best in Japan and likely the world.
They wear white because they petite ladies. Because metal stages are usually dark they choose White as it would reflect the lights making them stand out in the dark.
Next - "Swan Song, with Chopin Etude" you'll love the piano.

I think I suggested Lovebites some time back amidst our conversations on Nightwish videos - I think the ladies are mostly in their early 30's except the new bass player who I believe is 20. You can hear how heavily influenced they are by English bands (Wolfman 😆 🤣) such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest - sorry, I had to get that in there being a Brit!! I would almost beg you both to do 'Swan Song' with the Chopin piano intro - but there is a link that doesn't include the piano intro - it really is a must - I think your jaw will hit the floor Su Su!! 😆 As always take good care of yourselves 😃...David.

Thanks for reacting to amazing Lovebites and spreading the word; they deserve more recognition. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. They really shine in their live performances and yes, their performances are just jaw-dropping. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Helloween, Angra, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style. Some people say that they’re redefining metal. Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined Lovebites. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years.
Unfortunately Miho (bass) left the band last year, but a few days ago the band announced the new bass player, Fami; so they’re ready to set the world on fire. In an interview, Miho (ex bassist) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. My next suggestions are “Thunder vengeance”, “Break the wall”, “Set the world on fire”, “The Awakening/Hammer of wrath”, “Raise some hell”, “Scream for me”, “When destinies align”, “The crusade”, “Dancing with the devil”, “Above the Black Sea”, “Under the red sky”, “Addicted”, “Don’t bite the dust”, “Winds of Transylvania”; and for a different side of them: “Chopin Etude + Swan song”, “Empty daydream”, “Edge of the world”, “Epilogue”, “Glory to the world”, “Frozen serenade”, “Spellbound”, “Today is the day”, “Liar” (all live, but “When destinies align”, “Winds of Transylvania” and Glory to the world” have excellent MV). Lineup:
    Haruna - Drums
Miho - Ex Bass, backing vocals
Midori - Lead & rhythm guitar, backing vocals
Miyako - Lead & rhythm guitar, keyboards, classical piano, backing vocals
Asami - Lead vocals, some piano
By the way, their fans are called “the wolfpack”.

Guys, if you liked this you have to check on the best band from Japan, Nemophila. They are all female Metal Core band, they are the Fluffy Hell. You can begin with Disscension, Revive or Oiran.

One of the best from Japan, not THE best. That's all a matter of taste.

    • @jerryajc
      @jerryajc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

well NO, LoveBites is a S tier Heavy Metal band, Nemophila is a C tier metal core band, and there not in the same genre anyway, notice the 2nd word, it's the origin of the music, heavy metal is metal, and metal core is core, that is hard core is punk rock... so maybe you should find other bands to compare nemo to, out side of heavy metal.

They're not sisters and sadly, Miho, the bassist and founder has left the band. They're amazing. This song is good, but there are several more that I love a lot more than this one. When Destinies Align, Set The World on Fire and Glory to the World.

Don't know who you have seen but if you like this Japanese band (Put Swansong live with Chopin into on your list)
    check out these
Band Maid - Non Fiction Days (Hard Rock)
Aldious - We Are (this band has no bad songs in their discography plus plays lots of styles all filled with great hooks) - I would also recommended their songs - Dominator live, Go Away, Piece of my Wish, Fragile, Sweet Temptation, Step, Die For You, Other World. - Note they have had 4 outstanding singers (Rami, Re:No, Rin and Maki Oyama) and 2 drummers (current Drummer, Marina Bozzio, is the daughter of legendary prog rocker, Terry Bozzio who was the drummer for Frank Zappa)
Versailles - Aristocrats Symphony live Holy Grail
Unlucky Morpheus - Cadaver / Revedac
    Bridear -Brave New World Revisited
    Lovendor - Coward
Iron Bunny - 23 Twenty Three
    Wagakki Band - Homura live
