- Somebody to Love (Queen Cover), Foo Fighters, Madison Square Garden, New York, June 20th, 2021; 1st rock concert at Madison Square Garden since March 10th, 2021 due to pandemic
This is the only band where the best drummer in the band is the singer and the best singer in the band is the drummer and everyone is cool with it.

@@dennishuyvaert1416 The Foo Fighters are releasing a Bee Gees tribute album this month under the guise of the "Dee Gees", and they are covering some of the Gibb Bros.' songs this tour as well. I think that's why Barry is on the drum kit! So cool!

Extreme did a medley of Queen songs at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert and I'm almost certain it's the greatest live cover of Queen songs ever.

I was at the show where Dave broke his leg. Taylor stepped up to the plate and gave us some awesome covers along with the band while Dave got treatment. BEST CONCERT EVER!!
If that's the one I think it is, Dave got back on stage with an EMT holding his ankle to make sure it didn't shift, based on what I remember from an interview.
@@ciderfan823 yes he got back with the EMT guy for a bit, then went away again (got to the hospital to x-ray) then when he was done he asked to get back to the consert to finish it. They played the entire setlist even tho they played way later then they where allowed. While Dave was of stage, Taylor sang behind the drums, everything from Bowie, Queen, Beatles, Rollin' Stones. It was an electric feel during the entire consert.
The music world has lost a truly special talent. Taylor oozed charisma and this world is a lesser place without him in it. I think he'll go down as a legendary all round human being, and legends never die. RIP Taylor 😪

@@twally87 of course I knew dave was Nirvana's drummer. Up until Dave formed Foo Fighters I didn't know he played other instruments. That's why there's no surprise that he's as good as he is. I never knew that Taylor could sing/preform as well as he did.... always thought of him as just a drummer...

This is one of the best versions that have ever heard. The Bee Gees were the most talented songwriters, producers and artists in the world. They stated at 6 and 9 years writing their own songs and they lasted for 50 years. Their music catalog has over 300 songs. These guys had pure raw talent.
Anyone not from this generation should give it a go and listen to some of their music.

I had a random thought of the day, and that's "Has Rick Allen of Def Leppard ever stepped out from behind the kit to sing?" I imagine another kit would be necessary as RIck's kit is understandably different from pretty much anyone elses. Also, I love the graphic on Taylor's t shirt: The tempo is whatever I say it is.

The passion he had for music and being able to play in the BEST BAND along side his BEST FRIEND & BROTHER who shares the same passion and LOVE for music plus being able to sing, and play drums Is the ULTIMATE DREAM and they were perfection together. Taylor's passing has left such a void in the music world. My heart goes out to Taylor's wife of 17+yrs his children and Esp Dave who is experiencing a loss again I pray he can come back from bc Taylor would want The Foo Fighters to continue making music for the fans. He was such a humble and incredible musician, prayers going up for his family, Foo Fighters and all of their fans across the world 🙏💔🎤🥁

The best honor is when someone else does your songs. Freddie Mercury wrote this and Queen played it to perfection. Great to see Foo Fighters playing this song all these years later. Still a great song today.

This sounds like it's based on Queen's live performances in the 1980s rather than the studio version. Since Queen was almost always better live than in the studio, that's a good thing.
No they weren’t. They were equally unique in both environments. By the way great tribute, but awful cover!
no hes right that they were better live than in the studio most of the time. many studio songs lacked the energy that they had live which honestly most of the time makes Live versions much more enjoyable, some examples would be Now I'm Here, Son And Daughter, Fat Bottomed Girls, Staying Power, Hammer To Fall. Sometimes the lack of drum production was because of this. Like in an album like News Of The World the drum production was excellent, but on Jazz it wasnt. Change of producers and sound engineers really.

Foo Fighters is the only band where you have 2 rock legends and a drummer who performs as good as the lead singer and everyone is fine with it.
