Love to all x 53 year old school raver and original break beat soldier here. Takes me back x makes me smile makes me cry. Got them all on vinyl but more importantly I lived it I was there and it was amazing x
...And now we approach the 30th Birthday finale at Camden Palace (it will always be Camden Palace to me, not Koko, lol!) I went to pretty much all the London 'headz 30th b'day dances, and they were *all* banging! Proper riddims, proper crowds! Been there since V.I.P Drumz to now, rudeboy! Still got my vinyls from 30 years ago....we never thought we'd get old in those days, did we?!! Here's to another 30 years to take me into my pensioner years, lol. Shout to the crew who remember Blue Note, Leisure Lounge (my favourite 'headz venue from BITD), Hanover Grand and Heaven. Since forever!
ahh i remember in the 90's lisen to this in mates skate shop buskers playing crap music by his shop door so mate got the club style speakers by the door and cranks up the metalheadz dnb to make the buskers go away lol gd times
so im standing on the dancefloor watching the dj at soul in motion last year coming up on mushrooms and i look round and doc scott is standing right next to me..almost didnt recognise him..we sort of nod at each other..will never forget it..met jonny l that night too..smiled all the way home!!
mate its the best vibe and line ups are sick..often you can meet the djs as its really chill..find them on facebook and rsvp beforehand for free entry to most events..bailey and need for mirrors are cool guys..its a really friendly atmosphere mate..highly recommended..i dont go often enough
haha yeah those kind of idiots put me off for years..ruptures line ups are pretty sick still...soul in motion seem to find the right balance and ive met lots of friendly down to earth people who genuinely love music not just drugged up knobheads..work bar in angel is worth checking a lot of good dnb events there too midweek..ad me on fb man im a genuine music head and post a lot of tracks and stuff..peace bro..its wayne s heldon..have a bless day..jah!!!
UK hardcore didn’t find a thoughtful dance rhythm until it became Jungle. It blended. But when you listen to those DJs it departs from being rhythmic and becomes repetitive like 80’s club music does. Metalheadz records always felt inaccessible and elitist. Like they might beat you up for not being the same age. Exactly like Liquid Sky Records they stand alone by design.
