Used to live in Cape Town. We had an apartment that looked out over the bay at the foot of table mountain (Vredehoek, for any fellow South Africans here). The sound of cars driving on highways kilometers away carried all the way over to our balcony in the open air, it sounded exactly like this. Brings back memories of warm nights, watching shows with my family after dinner, sitting on the balcony and admiring the most incredible sunsets. Those were some of the happiest years of my life. I miss that place.

@@themorosov7 It's not as simple as "dealing with it", infrastructure is purpose built depending on location. Our roads, buildings, and services aren't equipped to deal with heavy snowfall, and drivers down here aren't used to those conditions, so it does shut down a lot when it happens. That being said, it doesn't happen very often, so infrastructure overhauls wouldn't be worthwhile. We just have "snow days" where school is cancelled or let out early and many people are excused/work from home. I imagine in Finland, your services are decently equipped for frequent heavy snowfall and intense weather, and your drivers are used to those conditions, so it would make sense that it doesn't affect much.
i love reading what everyone is reminded of when listening to brown noise. personally, i’m reminded of early morning college classes and the silence during an exam or while to professor is setting up a power point on the projector. its my purest form of peace.
mine was staying in hotels growing up. and still to this day. because it’s so dead quiet, then the A/C kicks on and you are at bliss. Because those hotel A/C’s are usually close to the bed, and much louder. That’s my weird nostalgia. 😂
as a person with ADHD and with medication, I find this particular sound so soothing and motivating, when I start to get used to the sound, I literally sit down to work immediately and I practically stopped distracting and procrastinating, this sound keeps me going for 12 hours straight
I randomly stumbled upon this video and I’ve never been immediately swept away into a deep sleep, I woke up 9 hours later to this still playing and I don’t think I’ve ever slept that good!

I struggle with sleep a lot and I’ve tried so many things, from normal white noise to ASMR and etc, but this is probably what not only helps me to fall asleep, but also helps me stay asleep! My sleep tends to be choppy and this has helped so much.

Brown noise is literally what happens when you run the bathtub, and put your ears under as soon as the tub is a little full to hear it fill up around you.

Wow I've been using white fan noise youtube videos every night... I never knew there was a brown noise. I asked myself why did this brown noise video pop up in my suggested. I genuinely thought that it was a binaural beat that would make you poop - the notorious brown noise mentioned in South Park. I had to find out, but I was grateful when I found out it was just another delightful background noise.
This makes me feel I'm on a motorcycle, with the sound of wind in my ears, the low rumble of the tires on the highway, and hearing the constant, very deep rumble, as if there was constant, steady thunder, as we headed straight for the dark skies ahead.
I listened to this for focus while studying in college. My university's library has this large room with big mahogany tables and high windows. Usually silent but every little noise echoes. Smells like coffee and old books

I thought that was amazing, and beautiful, and perfect... ...right up to the point that I remembered that's *exactly* when the xenomorph drops down on you from the overhead rafters and grabs you to take you off to be cocooned and await the facehugger to emplant the baby xenomorph inside you.
My frequent-pee senior dogs sleep upwards of 5hrs at a stretch when I listen to this. They usually wake me up every 1.5-2hrs throughout the night. I don’t know if it’s because I’m sleeping more deeply thus they are, too, or if it’s calming them directly. 5 solid hours of sleep without interruption is amazing.
A lot better than white noise-not as harsh. This is softer on the ears and much calmer. Thank you!

I listened to this for focus while studying in college. My university's library has this large room with big mahogany tables and high windows. Usually silent but every little noise echoes. Smells like coffee and old books
For me this feels like flying in an airplane at night where everyone is asleep or a roadtrip at night when everyone is tired and half asleep

My frequent-pee senior dogs sleep upwards of 5hrs at a stretch when I listen to this.
They usually wake me up every 1.5-2hrs throughout the night.
I don’t know if it’s because I’m sleeping more deeply thus they are, too, or if it’s calming them directly.
