If you had even 1 of these, then these would tear the house apart just from a single 5,000 watt subwoofer. Just one of these are 127DB. It’s loud as a normal PA speaker, but that bass that loud would shake everything. If you want decent bass, then I advise something less like the SVS.

I had one back in 2005.
There's another giant car sub too. By Clarion I think. Always wondered if they were SQ subs. Because of their design. Deaf Bounce makes one also. But that thing is much more beefy.

4" or if you can find a motor tooled for a 6" coil 10" multi layer spider(after modding basket) and a nice 4" butyl surround using a carbon cone instead of the aluminum?

I feel like a 5 inch coil is pretty small for a 34 inch sub just the svd pb16 ultra has an 8 inch coil and my jbl l100 century have a 3 inch coil on a 12 inch woofer

@@MilankoDebil Newer cars make it very hard to modify the stereo. Also modern stock systems are a lot better than they used to be. Custom car stereos were a thing of the early 2000 and todays scene is small. I'm happy whenever I hear someone pumping bass tho

This subwoofer has a dual voice coil. Dual voice coil subwoofers use two voice coils, an inner and an outer voice coil, separate with their own connections. mounted on a common cylinder and a common speaker cone

it is cool. and back in the day i would kill for one. but with th years of experience ive obtained in car installs and sound reproduction theory, i look at the small voice coil and ehh. i think i could produce output equal to or better than from some sundown 8s in a properly tuned enclosure. reminds of the 36 inch clarion from waay back. still cool though.
This woofer is quite unique in some ways. I love big woofers. so when I found one for sale. I have buy it. voice coil is 5 inches but look`s small on a woofer this size.
small voice cool? its 5", thats how big the SMD 18's coils are. its kinda funny, that motor and spider would probably look massive on a 15" BTW @Sylvester how big that spider? the woofers so big its hard to judge size.

woofer is in a closed box at this point. It is pretty hard work to dismantle.so it have to wait. but i'll keep it in mind and measures the next time I have the opportunity
Sylvester i know that feel, i have to take my 18" out the box to move it and it still ant fun, i bet that sub's up around 200lbs and awkward as hell to move.

What is the frequency response? what is the recommended crossover point? Not a real big spider, but with 6.3 square feet of piston area, it doesn't need much excursion to displace a lot of air. I saw another parabolic aluminum cone woofer virtually identical to this one with the brand name "Cadence". In the comments section there, someone mentioned "Audiobahn".
i dont remember the recommended crossover point. I think Cadence took over the production of this subwoofer from the audiobahn. It is best heard about 40 hz. is better at fealing the sound than listen I think

@@BIG_Speakers_And_Other_Stuff That's good information. It makes perfect sense, because the drivers are structurally identical, even though the color scheme is slightly different. I suspected the same magnets, same voice coil, and cone (parabola).
