One thing, Pride's mother kept Tiara away from her because her mother has precognition and did not want to make Pride Queen. It was to protect Tiara and make her Queen instead but since Pride changed that future changes as well.
I think its worth remembering that, so far, this anime is taking place in the past of a video game's story. All of these convenient plot points are things that happened to give the game's characters backstories and to explain their motivations. Also, she didn't reincarnate as the protagonist of the story. Her character is just as much an NPC as the love interests. So in her mind, the events of this world must conspire to make her sister queen. And for that to happen she has to become the villain and be killed. She doesn't want to become the villain, but she's worried that she will have to make choices that lead her down that path whether she wants to or not.
I think this hits the points I would have made pretty well. I won't say these characters are very deep at all lol but you do have to put yourself in their perspective to really appreciate the story. She doesn't know what rules apply so we don't either. It appears she has full free agency but she is still stuck with the horrible fears of things turning out anything like the game because she does not view herself as the main hero of this story.
Just going to explain the "adopted brother" thing real quick, since the anime *cuts* how important this position is. The Kingdom is run by three members of the royal family: the monarch holds the most power, and the consort and the regent hold equal power. A child with strong powers is adopted into the royal family to become the future regent, which is a fancy term for the Queen's assistant. The Prince Consort is assisted by the Chancellor. AND you got the mistranslated episode three, yay... 🙄 The law says that the future Regent *can* marry his adopted siblings. It doesn't usually happen, because the heir to the throne is typically engaged before the future regent comes of age. Because the regent is *always* younger than the monarch. Stale is not Pride's fiancé. EDIT: Adding this in to answer your question about the Queen: Rosa started having visions about Pride before Tiara was born. Rosa has visions at least once a week, and as she noticed that the Pride visions stopped less than a month after Pride remembered her past life, one can assume that Rosa has had *hundreds* of visions about villainess Pride over the past six years.
This show and manga quickly became one of my favorite Villainess stories. Maybe its because Pride isn't a total moron like a lot of them tend to be, I dunno. But the story direction is a lot different than the standard villainess route, so I appreciate that quite a bit. Unfortunately she still has the same hold up that every other Vilainess has, is that no matter what they do since it happened in the game, these things must eventually lead to the ending of the game. And they just make themselves blind to all the changes they are making to the people around them. What makes Pride a little different is that fear of herself. She knows what she is capable of, she knows what she does in the main story of the original game, and that scares the crap out of her. So its not due to her own obliviousness but her fear of what could be.
I mean, they kinda foreshadowed the Commander's ability with his title "unscarred knight" And it really wasn't "convenient" at that situation where his leg was stuck and he can't cut off his own leg to escape
I think her desperation of changing everything and setting them up to kill her if she becomes bad is because she may not be permanently pride and the real pride may return to her body to do her usual evil thing
I know time, i know this is reaction video, but still you talk to much, and you smile with almost sad part.. and more dramatic scene you still smile like Pride say to Arthur kill me etc. i smile and laugh in 85% this show, but in this scene, stale and arthur and i forgot his name, no. And one thing when you watch this anime, you like this or watch, because you start watch and just wanna finish what you started? I think you don't like this anime, or maybe im wrong - but for me you don't focus to much to story, subtitles etc. just watch, and finish, ep1,ep2,ep3 etc. etc.
