What terrifies me the most about this is that it's just Steven. Look at him, listen to him, listen to how he words the things he says, to how his voice cracks here and there. He isn't glowing pink, he doesn't have diamond eyes, he isn't being controlled, no one is influencing negative emotions in him, it's just Steven. The PTSD, the trauma, the hate for his mother's actions and even more that she left him to fix it all, his own self hate and self doubt, his passive and people pleaser nature, all in one mind and body. Steven is a character who bases a lot of what he does on morals and helping others before himself, because to him, that's what he's supposed to do. This, seeing this, seeing him lash out at Connie, someone who tries her best more than most others to understand what he's going through, hearing seeing him smile at the very end as he CHOOSES to fight over everything. When a hero, someone who puts others before himself and chooses to handle things with violence only when violence is needed, chooses to go along with it, you know they have truly lost sight of themselves. This is not the breakdown of a man, this is the downfall of a hero.

Ever since he was a kid he was so worried about himself, now that he’s a teen he’s been so focused on everyone that he never thought about his own thoughts and feelings.
I'm not a big fan of Steven Universe anymore, including Steven Universe Future, but I'm glad they added his PTSD and his trauma. It was interesting to see the effects of all he's been through and his arc throughout the series, as well as including these issues in a modern kids show. The show is dead to me now, but I think I'll always appreciate this about Future.
Canakyu the story of the original song was that Zach broke up with this girl named Juanita, but he believes that doing so killed a happier version of himself, part of him died, frustrated, he goes talk to his friend and start blaming her for pushing him into braking up with Juanita, and says he’s taking revenge on Juanita since in his eyes, she still won this situation
Headcanon: Steven's angry outbursts caused him to hurt others leading to Steven seeing himself as some corrupted fusion of himself and his mother. Regretting the loss of his former self he decides to end Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz once and for all. Connie refuses to help him as it would mean Steven would be destroyed as well.

I think it's kinda sad that most people didn't notice Steven's mind state. He still has a few problems to solve, but now other problems from his mother are coming back again. My favorite part in SUF so far is when Steven snaps, because it clearly shows how he is mentally breaking and becoming something that no one wants him to be. He wants to become the hero everyone wants him to be so badly that he doesn't want to take care of himself and concern others. He doesn't want to show 'em how mentally weak he is now. None of the gems tried talking to him or ask if he is fine, but even if they did, he would answer "Everything is fine", since he doesn't want to be weak in front of the gems and, no one would understand him. No one would understand how it feels to be the hero that must be flawless, the one who has to fix things that are not his problems and how they impact in his life. How everyone looks upon him. But it looks like everyone thinks "He's strong, he will be fine!". It pisses me off. Everyone acts like Steven never needs help. He needs someone to spill out everything and ease the burden he carries. If the "Corruption Theory" is true, I think Steven will have to fuse with a corrupted gen, since they didn't catch all of 'em, and end up corrupted. But he won't be able to heal himself because, deep inside, he is tired. It will be just like Volleyball, a psychological wound. And because of that, he will slowly become aggressive towards others and they'll notice something is off. Once the corruption signs appear, he will probably run away from everyone and be alone. He is tired if being the hero and having to concern everyone. He wants to finally have a rest. And that's why the cinnamon roll needs therapy.
I don’t actually think he would have to fuse with a corrupted gem though like taking that theory and knowing Rebecca sugar he’d probably corrupt from stress and depression after keeping everything pent up and he explodes maybe cause he’s a teen and a gem so maybe he hurt someone he cares about when he blows up and the guilt weighs down on him so much that he breaks and corrupts without realizing it cause no one knew that corruption from depression was a thing and he doesn’t tell anyone even after he realizes cause like it’s Steven and no one notices until it’s to late and he’s to far gone to heal

Insane Bella I doubt it’s corruption and more like his mental state/what he thinks of himself. There have been instances where gems have said that they can become so excited that they can poof, or it’s implied. I mean thats what happened with Spinel, she was so heart broken that Pink left her that she poofed and gained the design she has right now, repersenting her mental state; crying, darker, insaine was what she felt. And because he is a teenager, he is able to feel all of those emotions more strongly. So what if a half human gem is unable to poof and keep all of that pent of emotion inside? Will his gem part of him poof? And evolve into an embodiment of his mental image? But there is another side to my theory: the Lizard isnt Steven. Because knowing the crewniverse, out theories are never right unless they are in our faces
We wanted steven to smile and he did smile in the episode "fragments" but his smile didn't hold love and peace it held sick happiness and hidden rage, we wanted him to laugh but when he did laugh his laughter didn't make him shine like it usually did it didn't shine a light that said everything is great, his laugh showed deep anger and hatred and the deep want to hurt someone...

any1 coming back to this from 2022, just to cry? :,) seeing this as steven just hits different. Mostly because of the stress, trauma and the adhd (i think). And the voice of zach just makes it fit in with steven's 16 yr old character. After having maybe a panic or anxiety attack from the newer episodes ( well from the newer updates i found.). The worry in zach's voice, the animated expressions, and the small voice cracks make it more pure and more emotional. It really shows how lost he became. He lost control and didn't know what to do anymore. He needed a person who can fully understand and know how he feels. Since he's been placing himself aside, this shows how much trauma started to pile up. Everytime he tries to help someone, he prpbably feels more broken since nobody could be there properly for him like he is for others. What he's missing is a person he can trust like the figure people see when he's helping them. The trauma started to pile up as he broke and broke and broke until he was on his knees, losing sight of his control. It really shows how the problems he solved about the gems, diamonds, and relationships he had to fix. His voice sounds so emotional that adds so much more. Even the animation/animatic expressions are so well done that, there i say it; a masterpiece. Even though it is from 2yrs ago, it is still such a masterpiece. Bravo and Great work for the singers and animator who made this video possible. Keep it up! And stay safe

It’s honestly crazy what this boy goes through. He has to keep the gems in line, sort of. In the past, he almost got his life taken by White. All because of Pink. If she would of told the others she was going to have steven, instead of keeping it secret, maybe some of the conflicts wouldn’t have happened then. And I know she did this because the others left her out, that still doesn’t give you the will to leave all your problems on a 17 year old boy.

This is honestly my favorite of the interludes and you do fantastic! I got chills, ugh. It's kinda ironic that A Picture Perfect Hollywood Heartbreak fits Steven Universe Future pretty well. If this were an SUF AU based on Zach's album, my guess as to what currently happened: After all the stress finally got the better of Steven it killed off the old Steven (the caring, overly empathetic, selfless Steven that could help everyone but himself) and all that's left is anger, bitterness, and resentment after years of unending torment. Connie's trying to get him to see that he should've been standing up for himself all along to take care of himself, but Steven takes it negatively and blames Connie for his considerate side breaking (while she tries to affirm to him that it was, in fact, a good choice to let go of that to take care of himself). Steven's now consumed by the frustration and anger at his situation, especially towards his mother, and it starts coming out. Connie tries to get him to calm down and back off but Steven ignores her, so Connie gives up on getting him to stop. Steven goes off to let his frustrations be known now that he's too angry to play it nice.
I think Steven might have anger issues now… because when he was younger he would keep things that are upsetting to himself (I.e. when he was in roses room.) and help the other gems first, so now that he’s 16 hormones aren’t helping him, and as a teen, keeping things to himself keeps leading him to explode (like we have seen) And since he’s half gem, when he explodes, he EXPLODES! Eventually, he’ll turn into that big monster. (btw, if you look closely the face is like Steven, and if you look even closer, it has arms. Sneaple debunked.) Currently, I’m resonating with Steven like never before, because this is literally what I am currently going through right now (pray for everyone around me, poor things...) and the fact he’s 16 with mommy issues haha, too close to home, like aha, *F U C K* !
Childhood trauma can do that to you. The kids who have been quiet and nice turn explosive in their teenage years not just because of hormones but because of bad coping mechanisms like keeping things to themself and bottling it up. I hope actually we have a heart to heart with Steven and Connie in SUF and he comes to his senses that he needs to vent to her. Probably at the end of the series of the series of something.
I think he is going down that path but jasper is gonna help him even though she doesn’t it yet because she was the first one to see it. There is gonna be a time when he explodes and no one will be able to stop him and the only way to help will be his friends all coming together. At least that’s what I think is going to happen

I think it's kinda sad that most people didn't notice Steven's mind state. He still has a few problems to solve, but now other problems from his mother are coming back again. My favorite part in SUF so far is when Steven snaps, because it clearly shows how he is mentally breaking and becoming something that no one wants him to be. He wants to become the hero everyone wants him to be so badly that he doesn't want to take care of himself and concern others. He doesn't want to show 'em how mentally weak he is now. None of the gems tried talking to him or ask if he is fine, but even if they did, he would answer "Everything is fine", since he doesn't want to be weak in front of the gems and, no one would understand him. No one would understand how it feels to be the hero that must be flawless, the one who has to fix things that are not his problems and how they impact in his life. How everyone looks upon him. But it looks like everyone thinks "He's strong, he will be fine!". It pisses me off. Everyone acts like Steven never needs help. He needs someone to spill out everything and ease the burden he carries.
If the "Corruption Theory" is true, I think Steven will have to fuse with a corrupted gen, since they didn't catch all of 'em, and end up corrupted. But he won't be able to heal himself because, deep inside, he is tired. It will be just like Volleyball, a psychological wound. And because of that, he will slowly become aggressive towards others and they'll notice something is off. Once the corruption signs appear, he will probably run away from everyone and be alone. He is tired if being the hero and having to concern everyone. He wants to finally have a rest.
And that's why the cinnamon roll needs therapy.
I don’t actually think he would have to fuse with a corrupted gem though like taking that theory and knowing Rebecca sugar he’d probably corrupt from stress and depression after keeping everything pent up and he explodes maybe cause he’s a teen and a gem so maybe he hurt someone he cares about when he blows up and the guilt weighs down on him so much that he breaks and corrupts without realizing it cause no one knew that corruption from depression was a thing and he doesn’t tell anyone even after he realizes cause like it’s Steven and no one notices until it’s to late and he’s to far gone to heal

Insane Bella I doubt it’s corruption and more like his mental state/what he thinks of himself. There have been instances where gems have said that they can become so excited that they can poof, or it’s implied. I mean thats what happened with Spinel, she was so heart broken that Pink left her that she poofed and gained the design she has right now, repersenting her mental state; crying, darker, insaine was what she felt.
And because he is a teenager, he is able to feel all of those emotions more strongly. So what if a half human gem is unable to poof and keep all of that pent of emotion inside? Will his gem part of him poof? And evolve into an embodiment of his mental image?
But there is another side to my theory: the Lizard isnt Steven. Because knowing the crewniverse, out theories are never right unless they are in our faces

seeing this as steven just hits different. Mostly because of the stress, trauma and the adhd (i think). And the voice of zach just makes it fit in with steven's 16 yr old character. After having maybe a panic or anxiety attack from the newer episodes ( well from the newer updates i found.).
The worry in zach's voice, the animated expressions, and the small voice cracks make it more pure and more emotional. It really shows how lost he became. He lost control and didn't know what to do anymore. He needed a person who can fully understand and know how he feels.
Since he's been placing himself aside, this shows how much trauma started to pile up. Everytime he tries to help someone, he prpbably feels more broken since nobody could be there properly for him like he is for others. What he's missing is a person he can trust like the figure people see when he's helping them.
The trauma started to pile up as he broke and broke and broke until he was on his knees, losing sight of his control. It really shows how the problems he solved about the gems, diamonds, and relationships he had to fix.
His voice sounds so emotional that adds so much more. Even the animation/animatic expressions are so well done that, there i say it; a masterpiece.
Even though it is from 2yrs ago, it is still such a masterpiece.

It’s honestly crazy what this boy goes through. He has to keep the gems in line, sort of. In the past, he almost got his life taken by White. All because of Pink. If she would of told the others she was going to have steven, instead of keeping it secret, maybe some of the conflicts wouldn’t have happened then. And I know she did this because the others left her out, that still doesn’t give you the will to leave all your problems on a 17 year old boy.

If this were an SUF AU based on Zach's album, my guess as to what currently happened:
After all the stress finally got the better of Steven it killed off the old Steven (the caring, overly empathetic, selfless Steven that could help everyone but himself) and all that's left is anger, bitterness, and resentment after years of unending torment. Connie's trying to get him to see that he should've been standing up for himself all along to take care of himself, but Steven takes it negatively and blames Connie for his considerate side breaking (while she tries to affirm to him that it was, in fact, a good choice to let go of that to take care of himself). Steven's now consumed by the frustration and anger at his situation, especially towards his mother, and it starts coming out. Connie tries to get him to calm down and back off but Steven ignores her, so Connie gives up on getting him to stop. Steven goes off to let his frustrations be known now that he's too angry to play it nice.

I just had this idea in my head that the female voice during stevens parts could be pink.
I think Steven might have anger issues now… because when he was younger he would keep things that are upsetting to himself (I.e. when he was in roses room.) and help the other gems first, so now that he’s 16 hormones aren’t helping him, and as a teen, keeping things to himself keeps leading him to explode (like we have seen) And since he’s half gem, when he explodes, he EXPLODES! Eventually, he’ll turn into that big monster. (btw, if you look closely the face is like Steven, and if you look even closer, it has arms. Sneaple debunked.)
Currently, I’m resonating with Steven like never before, because this is literally what I am currently going through right now (pray for everyone around me, poor things...) and the fact he’s 16 with mommy issues haha, too close to home, like aha, *F U C K* !

Childhood trauma can do that to you. The kids who have been quiet and nice turn explosive in their teenage years not just because of hormones but because of bad coping mechanisms like keeping things to themself and bottling it up. I hope actually we have a heart to heart with Steven and Connie in SUF and he comes to his senses that he needs to vent to her. Probably at the end of the series of the series of something.
I think he is going down that path but jasper is gonna help him even though she doesn’t it yet because she was the first one to see it. There is gonna be a time when he explodes and no one will be able to stop him and the only way to help will be his friends all coming together. At least that’s what I think is going to happen
