My short film entitled 'THE RUT - A Note To Self' explores the Tibetan concept of 'tendrel', the interdependent nature of reality. It documents a personal journey of mine as I lived with a herd of red deer for two weeks during their mating season in Autumn of last year. You can watch it on the Nyishar channel here: th-cam.com/video/V6GsdW7M1zQ/w-d-xo.html

I hope the person who posted this documentary sees my comment. Many years ago I arrived at a holiday destination in the EU. I was told that just before my arrival a tibetan man called Garchen Rinpoche had stayed in my room. I didn't know him or anything about him but for some reason remembered his name. And there was a very peculiar sense of beauty in my room that I can't explain. Here I am all these years later learning who this Garchen Rinpoche is. I had no idea back then and am deeply moved now. It was a room I stayed in during a holiday where the air seemed peculiarly infused with kindness. I know that might sound a bit nutty. But many years later I see him in your documentary and I just burst out crying and don't know why.

I see most of the comments are 1 to 3 years old. I think this should get more exposure, but then again, I will say with certainty that those who are meant to see it, will. Such is the nature of divine timing. I pray for blessings, for peace, for learning and freedom from this maya and suffering it brings, and for the Tibetan Yogic traditions to grow and thrive despite the attempts to reduce its magnificence. Grateful to the makers of this documentary, as well. May all beings be free and at peace in this life and the next.

I am an African American woman who has a great respect and fascination for Tibetan culture. It literally started because of a very vivid dream I had over 10 years ago... dreamt I was in Tibet with a group of people walking through a monastery... there was a huge open room with an enormous golden Bhudda... a single monk was sitting in front of the bhudda in meditation... I turned my head in the dream and our tour guide was the most beautiful and peaceful human being I’d ever seen... a monk... he guided my tour group to an outside area and the there were snow capped mountains all around... tall swaying grass... before that dream I knew very little of the culture ... I was so obsessed I searched the internet for a year trying to find that exact place... never found it... but my love for this culture and the people has led me on an unbelievable journey... I’ve traveled to see the Dalai Lama speak twice ... Met some amazing people, read many books and adopted some of their practices... even took my husband to a cultural event and made him sit through 2hrs of Tibetan Throat singing ... ☺️ (may my hubby now Rest In Peace...) ❤️he never judged me for being a black girl from the hood who found a love for a culture on the other side of the world
Though I am grateful to know about this culture in my lifetime, my heart truly goes out to the plight of Tibet ❤️
Cultural oppression and genocide of ANY race is not the way we should be living... may humanity wake up and realize this before there is no one left to forgive us ✌🏾

Yes in fact so much of the practices of Tibet were imbibed from Indian traditions--Vajrakilaya is an important one that comes to mind. The use of mantras and a japamala as the most rudimentary of spiritual practices is another big one that Buddhism clearly imbibed from Hinduism. I want to thank each and every being who made this film possible. I know that it is not an easy thing to break from tradition. Especially when secrecy around these practices was meant to protect others from injuring themselves physically or spiritually ( in the case of one being led astray by ego). I can only offer you my deepest gratitude for sharing and a promise that I, personally, will take what you have so courageously shown, and use it to learn and grow. Throughout the film, I felt your pain, your anguish, but also experienced your joy and your peace. I am honored to have met you and wish to extend to what words alone can not. This has changed me for the betterment of all. May peace rain down on all of humanity and I hope that this may help to put your mind at east. Thank you, my brothers and sisters. Change is hard, but as we all know, it is necessary for growth. You do not judge the elders before you for having kept these things secret. They did that because it was needed to protect the future and now, you speak ,still within your vows, to help protect the future. Over time they will come to understand, as we all do. Many blessings unto you.

When I was nine years old, my parents and adult neighbors were talking about Classical Religion on the front steps of our house. My father asked me what religion I like and without thinking about it I replied, "Hindu!" My father asked me why and I replied with a big, honest smile, "I like the way it sounds!" I'm 51 now and I still like and study the philosophy of Hindu just for the fun of it.

I’m fascinated by the Tibetan people and the ancient wisdom of the yogis. As a westerner, I too come under the category of feeling that there is more to life than desiring material, status and money. I have had some deeply moving experiences in this life. I’m awakening to that which resides beyond suffering. Slowly, like the formation of a magnificent stalagmite, in an ancient cave, the “water drips” of my consciousness gently eases me towards my true nature. I’m beginning to look at my life through the lens of true accomplishment; learning to live as a Bodhisattva in day-to-day life. I falter, stumble and toil with so much, I wonder if the closest I’ll ever come to enlightenment, will be at my last breath. Thank you for this precious documentary. May all beings be free, may all beings be at peace. May all beings be happy. 🙏🏻

The time is once upon us that they will proceed further in my opinion, and will come out of it's sleep when the vail of materialism and fake wealth will be lifted. We only needed WWI, WWII and the Cold War to put it to sleep, yet the monster of Nihilism is upon us again as soon as the oscillation of the economy swings to the "bad" side. Since Samsara doesn’t mean only this material realm and rebecoming doesn’t happen only again and again in this material real alone , there are are Deva realms/ god realms . As for God with a capital G , the Buddha never mentioned such being but his teachings and statements implies such a thing cannot be true . 1) The samsara is a beginningless and endless flow of causes and conditions . So there is no beginning when a Creator- God creates Universe .2) He said clearly The beginning ( Pubbakoti ) cannot be seen/known ( Na paññayati ) meaning there is no beginning . In such a context the very existence of a Creator -in -the- Beginning -God just doesn’t arise as that becomes meaningless . So such a concept as the Creator God was never mentioned by the Buddha and because it makes no sense in a beginingless Samsara later Buddhist Masters refuted such a concept as Ishwar/Creator God as WRONG VIEW .

Most the greats masters were Nalanada Masters, Nalanda being the main vedic knowledge center. Shantarakshita was the first Master from Nalanda who encouraged Tibetan emperor to follow the tradition of knowledge and also encouraged him to practice and write the script in their own language.

@@drnihasc Yes. Sorry I mentioned vedic explicitly being main center. But it was indeed a vedic knowledge center as well as an option. All students of Nalanda studied the Great Vehicle (Mahayana) as well as the works of the eighteen (Hinayana) sects of Buddhism. In addition to these, they studied other subjects too such as the Vedas, Hetuvidyā (Logic), Shabdavidya (Grammar and Philology), Chikitsavidya (Medicine), the works on magic (the Atharvaveda), and Samkhya.
Nalanda, Taxila etc were indeed one of the earliest universities of great Indian subcontinent and what they actually did was create a highly systematic methods of scholarship that included citation which is still used today when you enroll as a PHD scholar.

@aztecwarrioruno Look, young lady. You may not agree with my observation and opinion that it is just completely sad that this narrator made such a horrible blunder. That's your opinion. Will it change mine? Not in the slightest? Why? Because I have God on my side. Yep. You heard me right. God is in control. Not you, not I, not the video's narrator. You might think that you were fortunate to come across this video, and indeed, it has been a fortune for you. But, what you've ignored is the greater fortune you COULD have had if only you had shown a bit of respect instead of defending the foolish comment made by the narrator. Will you learn to open your eyes, or will you be the proverbial poor man, sitting on his box at the dirty side of the road, never even contemplating to look inside the box itself? He spent his whole life sitting on that box, begging for scraps, not realizing that it was treasure box. So, young lady, I would ask you to look beyond your temporary smugness, and ask yourself why I was critical of this narrator's mistake, for it was a horrible one. It was a biased one. It was an ignorant one, indeed. There is a whole treasure of a world out there. And it's actually all in your self. One day, when you drop your arrogance, you might decide to have a look. You may have found a gold coin at the side of the road, while your Hindu friend was apparently wasting his time giving regards to his gods, but what you don't realize is that there was a whole bag of gold coins for your taking that you completely missed. Why? Because you were focussed on berating someone for his respect that you couldn't understand.

Every enlightened soul that walked on the face of earth started their journey by searching for answer of the question that summons conscious mind. Every enlightened do not gave answer but way to perceive answer though their teachings and practices to be followed. Slowly preachers and followers structure themselves in organized way so that the teachings can be spread to humanity. Then they take the form of religion which has to be protected. On the process of proectecting the organisation they become more rigid, pragmatic and in long run turn get corrupted. Teaching that was supposed to flow like river in nature we turn down into canal with control of some authority. Human nature is to prove themselves superior and distinct from others. So we started seeing differences between ourselves. But in reality we are son common with similar need and physicality that we human are almost identical. Yet we like to cherish our differences and fight to defend those differences. Only when we can realize the similarity of being human and accept the beauty in differences in the way of life we know what it meant to be human. Being born as human is great possibility. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

He came to tibet from the path of Nepal in form of "Padmashambhava" to spread Buddhism all over tibet and then slowly around the world. He is known as tibetan shiva. "Buddha" is the 9th incarnation of "Lord Vishnu". Hinduism and buddhism is very much related to each other. The word "OM" is a very powerful and sprititual chant which is known to be the energy of Lord Shiva. The word "OM" is used the most and believed very spriitual and powerful in Buddhism. I myself am a follower of both Hinduism and Buddhism. Me and my family worship every Hindu Gods including every Buddhist Gods. Lord Buddha was born to spread peace and detach hatred all over the world and not to harm or kill any living beings in the universe. Be kind and helping to others, the world is round, one day it will come back to you. Om Nama Shivaya.

And there are no such things called Buddhist Gods. They are dharma protector. We ask help from them in protection against negative forces not to attain Nirvava or Enlightenment. There is no one higher than Buddha and Budhha himself said I can't help u. I can only show u how to help urself.

i thought buddhism is not a religion but a practice - according to thich nhat hanh. He said in his book that he knew a priest who practice buddhism and it helped him to be a better priest and person. So I don't think that that priest praise any other Gods when he practiced buddhism.because that would be a sin in their religion.

Focus inward, look deep into your own weakness instead of trying to fix the world and blame each other. Let's practice loving kindness, is what's lacking in the world. Greed, hate, jealousy and violence thoughts can be reduced by practicing the loving kindness. We all should focus on the present moment. Guard your mind from bad thoughts . Practice five precepts of Buddhism.

It's wonderful to see a theocracy that upholds visionaries who expound virtues of compassion and empathy with the greater understanding of enlightened consciousness and meditative stance on values ethics and morality. An anomaly in current society. Whether you believe in all philosophical notions or not there are certainly several admirable attributes that many other cultures sometimes shun or don't explicitly state so openly throughout all their adherents. I see the golden Buddha sometimes and Mandelas certainly helped open my awareness of other aspects of reality and other dimensions. It's a fabulous way to open the third eye meditating on these brilliant iconographic manifestations. It certainly makes an individual feel quite egoless when visualising other possibilities greater than oneself.
