Does this require that you have WiFi? You can’t use this with just a TV on your phone network?

No it doesn’t need wifi I’m just opening mine now… however it will not full screen any video you watch. There will be black bars around the edges… I have tired both modes and it works great for displaying my phone it doesn’t full screen any video like the Apple hdmi to lightning adapter does.
