      So glad I found your channel via midnight searches. Not even sure what led me to your page but happy for it. These tips are helpful. What I am planning is definitely profitable even during the pandemic but it is very saturated. Trying to make it unique is where I am at now and getting the keywords. Oh and I never thought of selling digital items even though I see them all over Etsy. Thank you

      @@tailoredto2070 you're very welcome! It's totally okay to be in a saturated niche, but like you said, it's what makes you unique that will help you stand out from competitors :) eventually you will niche down as you get to know your audience and ideal customer more and more!

    I’ve grown tired of fake ass you-tubers leading me up the garden path, however Sandra you are not one of these! I clearly have analysis paralysis and have lost my way always getting hung up on my niche and suffering shiny object syndrome. Just this one video here is a major eureka moment for me, the tools and tips you give alway are pure gold, I’ve looked and studied so many business models to use for my art including POD, but you explain it all here so simply, as well as ‘pivoting’ your business. I appreciate the way you break it down, I will be reading you ebook next. I CAN do this!! x

      I love this Simon. And of course you can do this! Trust me I've been there many times and I don't think it's talked about enough - one of the biggest struggles we have as entrepreneurs is focusing on one idea and allowing it to grow. We normally don't give it enough time and attention because we get side tracked by all the other ideas we have. So glad you're having the eureka moment you needed! :)

    Hi Sandra. I'm still working on what my niche is. I've done some wall art, but now I'm trying certain things like recipe printables and things like that. I was wondering. With the wall art, we can us a mock to make the photo big enough for etsy. But how do you do it with printable pages that don't really work will in a mock. I tried to put a photo onto etsy and it was saying it wasn't big enough. Are there certain mocks that will work for printable pages like recipes or meal planning like there are for wall art? I've been spending a good part of my morning today trying to figure out how to do the 1500 X 2000 pixel with the pages and they don't look right. It's like they need to be put into a mock like I do with the wall art. Is there a way to do that where it would look right? Thanks so much.

    I am really unsure what to do with mine. What I want to do is small gifts for any occasion. I don't really want to niche down more than that but I know that my target market and those I sell to tend to be both women and men from 20 - 45ish. Is this niche enough or should I be trying to just select a particular event such as weddings or new babies? It's really tricky! X

      @SandraDi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jenna! You don't have to niche down further if you are already getting a lot of clients from all types of events. I started off as a wedding stationary artist but I also had a lot of clients asking for stationery for their baptisms, birthdays, bridal showers, etc. That's totally fine! :)

    This is very helpful. I graduated as an Interior Designer. Got a job as an Interior Designer and I wasn't really enjoying it, but I love designing too. So, after months and months of research on how to get passive income and working at the comfort of my home, as I am a single mom, I came across your videos and I am encouraged to do digital products to sell on Etsy. I will watch more of your videos for tips in order to prepare myself to open my very first Etsy shop. Wish me the best! And thank you for such informative videos! Keep making more videos in the future. God bless!

    How do you get digital product ideas for Etsy and how do you market your shop?

  • @emilycosson3335

    Do you feel art prints is too big of a niche and you'd go with specifically themed art prints? Such as an Etsy shop with only Nautical themed art, or coffee lover themed, inspirational quotes, floral watercolor, etc?

    • @SandraDi
      @SandraDi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. Art prints is very broad and it would be very competitive if you don't niche down further. The examples you gave are perfect. I personally sell "boss lady" wall art but I include many styles like inspirational, watercolor, coffee prints, etc. It's all about serving the same target audience. I hope that makes sense!

    Ha definitely shiny object syndrome. I am a maker. I love learning and trying new things. Thats my problem. I decided a few months ago that I needed to switch to digital downloads but that would be easier for me at the moment. Single working mom here. I am also a perfectionist. Watching your videos has def helped me! I get stuck in procrasti-learning and not actually getting things done ! I would eventually love to actually make money online and be able to show other single moms they can too. But first I need to get there ! Loving your channel :)

      Hi Angela!! You are not alone - I suffer with shiny object syndrome sometimes still!! lol Taking little action every day will help you get to where you want to go :) We tend to overthink everything and scare ourselves into not taking any action at all. Baby steps every day will help you get clarity, even if it means you have to pivot or change your niche down the road!

    Thanks Sandra for the video! I have a question, I want to create a blog for small business with advice for social and blogging.. in your opinion, does it make sense to design the site that reflects my tastes? for example, I like very elegant design but now people are used to seeing sites with stronger colors ...what do you think? Thanks :)

    Hi Sandra ! Finding niche is so complicated. I have some questions about it. If I choose my niche is design a tee-shirt, let's say camping is the niche. Do I have to make only camping design on my shop or I can do random design tee-shirt? I found some nice research tool that is paid but I am confused if I find the niche why do I have to pay monthly subscription fee. Please advise me.
    Thanks 😊

    • @SandraDi
      @SandraDi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! Yes picking a niche can be the most complicated part of your business! I struggle with it too. Think of you niche more so of WHO you are serving. If camping is your niche, then you can sell multiple products that have to do with camping. Not just camping t-shirts if that makes sense. You can totally branch out and create some more types of t-shirts as well to test out the market and see what's more popular :)

      Hi Kandice! Haha that's amazing to hear thank you!! My target audience only narrowed down when I gained more experience. Your target audience or "ideal client" may start broad. When you work with more clients or reach more people, it will make more sense who you are attracting. It becomes more and more clear with action and time. Does that make sense?
