For many years I was in denial walking around with 150/80 blood pressure. Finally I got out of denial got on HCTZ & now my blood pressure stays at or below 120/80.
My BP skyrockets to abnormal numbers whenever I am in a medical setting and have such high anxiety; sweating, heart rate goes up, and my heart is beating fast. However, the numbers are completely normal when I check it at home (my sister is a nurse who checks it for me). At my last visit with my physician, she had me sit in the office for an additional hour and my numbers were normal when she did the final check. I also had a fasting blood test done and everything was normal, except I was low in vitamin D. As soon as that blood pressure cuff goes on, I notice on my FitBit that my pulse rate goes up within seconds. I don't know if this fear of medical procedures comes from when I was a child and was in the hospital for phenomena.
Hey this is something I am currently going through and im so frustrated and feeling defeated. At least yours is normal when you're not home. I've gotten so bad to where I get the anxiety and fast heart rate now when I am about to take mine. As soon as the cuff goes on I feel anxiety build up in my stomach and chest my heart races and its high and I know it will be. This is stressing me out. I cant get a reading that doesn't reflect the anxiety that I feel.
@@weezyjay2523 It is frustrating! I think I have tried every breathing trick there is and nothing has worked when I get my readings done at the doctor. I recently had an EKG and lab work done, everything is normal! I purchased an OMRON machine from Target and my physician is going to do a virtual visit in a few weeks. Checking my numbers twice a day and keeping a log as well. Ask your physician if you can do the same!

I dont want to be placed on bp meds when its the taking of it that gets me anxious. Thanks so much for responding. I wish you the best. If u have any tips feel free to let me know. Thank you
You have white coat syndrome. I had same thing. My dr figured I had that when it was high in dr office. I try to take deep breaths and relax. I take Calm gummies that has magnesium to help at dr office. My dr wanted me to monitor it at home.
I been on bp medication since my early 30s and it was always managed well. My readings were always really good while on bp. Now since I hit perimenopause my bp has been high during my cycles and heart rate as well. Then when am not on my cylce it returns back to normal. I was hoping to hear you speak on that topic . I have been put on bp medication twice a day since this whole roller coaster happened. I just want to know how to get it back to normal again while going through this change.
How and who was the blood pressure readings determined on? Why would the numbers change like that to where 130 is now the number? The same is true for diabetes and other diseases. The numbers for those diseases vary from country to country. I don’t understand it. Could you please shed light on this? Thanks for all you’re doing. Shalom
Dear Dr Frita. Quick question please, do people with high blood pressure due to hyperthyroidism take medication for life? If no, when approximately is medication normally stopped? Thanks for your answer in advance. And thanks for your life changing videos.
Cause honey, your lives are way better than the lives of other people in most countries around the world! If you think you got it so bad here, please I beg you to take get on a plane and travel the world and don’t hang out in the high tourist areas but go into the actual communities with the natives and suddenly that bs narrative you have been told and you have been telling all your life will suddenly seize to exist! You all are over privileged class who refuses to acknowledge that fact! In America and only America you have the power and the right to become the biggest pos or the most successful person in the world..but guess what? It’s easier to be pos or barely making it and just complain complain complain than to go out there and work your ass off until you become what you desire! Who you are or who you become is up to you ! It’s not the country’s fault bc Africans from Africa come here and kick ass everyday, they are extremely successful group of people and they are foreigners that don’t even speak the language, or barely speaks it…same thing goes to Asians Indians and even most Hispanics! So you are the captain of your ship! Or you can hand over your ship to government and then you have no right to complain bc you made that choice

I was diagnosed with hypertension 10 years ago and the physician straightaway put me on meds without telling the reason and since then I am on medication. I am from India and I work as a medical transcriptionist where I work for multiple clients from USA and I know unlike USA in India doctors really don't talk about the underlying cause or want to find the same. Now as it has been long I know sadly I can't stop the meds but your videos help people like us..Thank you doctor for your effort.
First of all I didn't want your opinion and its not about the efficacy, its about approaching the patients and I don't have to go to USA as I know what I need to know and one more thing for your betterment, it's not always necessary to prove you are right and others are wrong, rather sometimes you have to understand what is the intent.

If you or a family member was diagnosed with high blood pressure, did you and your physician talk about the possible causes of the high blood pressure, or did you just start taking medications without really asking questions?
I think you're quite right: a number of people don't wonder where high blood pressure has come from. Thanks for the great points about the causes of secondary hypertension.
I most certainly was provided multiple blood pressure medications. Recently things have gotten better. My blood pressure has never been high for a month straight.
Good afternoon Dr. Frita, can you please do a video on hypothyroidism? I had a total thyroidectomy due to a hot nodule. At the time I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, after my surgery 10 years ago, I'm now hypothyroidism and taking levothyroxine.
Can essential or primary hypertension be lowered naturally? I’m 52” 108 lbs , exercise every day, eat very healthy, zero processed packaged food, no health conditions, yet my systolic is consistently 130-133.
Hi what great information I have been diagnosed with HB I'm really scared with the medication that I'm taking I have informed my doctor about the side effects, weight gain body hair loss was tired all the time, I'm a very attractive person work out do stairs climbing, and the weight is all in my belly, it's not a good look so if you have any advice I would welcome it 😃👍🏿
Sorry about how you feel. Which medications are you taking presently? For the symptoms you just stated, I'd recommend you go for a blood work to evaluate your thyroid function. Hope this helps 🙏
Before even listening to the video completely and not being a Doc one is lead to believe the underlining cause of any internal body issue may stem from a twisted vascular system. Everything else compounds the issues within. *A faulty vascular system hinders the circulation process that'll eventually reach the heart or head.
If somebody starts on a low sodium diet I guarantee that his BP is gonna stay the same since his aldosterone will double. The reason is all these components are part of a complex regulatory mechanism details of which are not known yet.
I was diagnosed with nodules on my thyroid, aside from that I feel like I have an increase amount of cortisol due to insomnia too, and this has affected my adrenals resulting in increased aldosterone levels in my blood, my doctor diagnosed me with "essential" hypertension, but refuses to do anything about it other than to prescribe meds, she hasn't even done a thyroid panel but I did take an ultrasound of my thyroid revealing nodules that she said was too small to do anything about, Also! I suspect I might have an issue with my ovaries because of constant pain in my left lower abdominal area, all my glands are suffering, and it's all related, if I can just find a sensible, unbiased PCP, I'm at the VA and have to accept who they assign me to as my doctor.....BUT! I'm implementing much Self-care until God directs me to where I need to be🙏🏽
My adrenal was causing my hbp post covid. Meds didn’t work. The only thing that did was sea salt in water and magnesium plus low carb, lots of veggies and a little meat and fish diet. My doctor is clueless. Figured this out on my own. Hope this helps.

Dr Frita thank you so much for your information. i may had the aorta problem but now subsided. never diagnosed. I've been taking different meds, changing meds for years. got a CT scan, nothing is wrong with my organs, why bp? my blood is not flowing thru my arteries & vessels??? so MD is giving me meds for my heart and kidneys??? no solution, just take the meds to avoid stroke, heart attack, kidney failure. I decided to take supplement vitamins [ along with my meds ]..vit b complex, mag cal & zinc, triple omega, black seed oil, vit d, etc. most of the supplements are to relax me & my vessels and to help strengthen my inner body. changed my eating habits and started exercising [ lost 10 lbs slowly 2 months ], meditation, yoga, nothing but water, green tea, beet roots. i juice fruits and veggie. I am maintaining my bp now with only two meds and I'm trying to get off those.

Hello doc, i have high blood pressure during pregnancy and had preeclampsia during pregnancy which resulted to stillbirth my question is my blood pressure is still high after my pregnancy. What does really cause it because i thought the bp will go down after pregnancy.
I’ve been taking hypertension medication for about 20 years now. Recently I have noticed that sometimes in the morning my blood pressure will be low and then all of a sudden around lunchtime or around 3 o’clock it’s extremely high anywhere from like 150/95. Recently I fainted at first I felt nausea and I scared extremely hot and it was like darkness coming over me and then I just went out woke up on the floor tile with cuts and bruises. My doctor said it might be a blood pressure spike. I have felt this about five times last year but never fainted I sat down and it passed over. I am 73 years old and very confused.
Check your insulin sensitivity, you might have metabolic syndrome. You're fasting blood sugar might be fine but your blood sugar after eating might be too high or normal but in either case your pancreas is probably pumping out large doses of insulin to compensate for the excessive blood sugar . This will give you high blood pressure. Try going on a low carb diet combined with intermittent fasting. Talk to your doctor.

Thank you so much👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️🙏🏽always for you sharing your knowledge to try and save a life.
🙏🙏🙏
They never do explain anything. They just check your vital signs, maybe an EKG, listen to lung sounds, write prescriptions, and reschedule you.
Brilliant, so comprehensive. I can never understand how I have pressure of 160/100 but just a pulse of 60 to 65.. Makes no sense..
Blood pressure is - sys/dylostic. Heart rate is - BPM.
For many years I was in denial walking around with 150/80 blood pressure. Finally I got out of denial got on HCTZ & now my blood pressure stays at or below 120/80.
What is Hctz

@@nicolem6109 You would not believe I just purchased the Omron 7 series wrist one at Target just a few days ago!! I feel the anxiety build up w fear of a high reading even w doing it myself w this its been high. Breathing exercises have gotten me down just once to 148 top number. Oops I meant at least yours is normal when you're at home. I've got it so bad my anxiety is following the bp machine. I don't know what else to do.
That's me whenever I step into a Dr's office or hospital 🥺🤦🏿♀️
I been on bp medication since my early 30s and it was always managed well. My readings were always really good while on bp. Now since I hit perimenopause my bp has been high during my cycles and heart rate as well. Then when am not on my cylce it returns back to normal. I was hoping to hear you speak on that topic . I have been put on bp medication twice a day since this whole roller coaster happened. I just want to know how to get it back to normal again while going through this change.
Eat more plants and stop or decrease processed foods
Thanks Doc for a very Informative video about High Blood Pressure.
Great job Dr. Frita!
EXCELLENT and easy to follow &
understand presentation. Thank you
I'm pretty sure, all African ppl blood pressure is high, due to the crap we have to deal with, living in North America
Or because your diet choices aren’t good at all? High seasoning, deep fried foods, high salt use, fast food etc etc
Watching this video seems to raise my pressure 🤯😀😁
Great information, I definitely subscribed !

Thank you Doctor for the information. I'm 74 and I have had high blood pressure since I was 40 years old. I keep it under control with medication.
Thanks for the great information.. I have a question..when I eat it gives me heart palpitations… would you please make a video on all causes thanks..
How much do u pay for per visit for doctor in india 😂😂😂😂, do you know how much a cbc costs in usa $100 and in india 200 rupees
I am from India i have lived 10 years in usa, if ur clients are from usa that doesn't mean u know usa better, u have to visit
Indian doctors are pro, Amemican doctors are noobs
First of all I didn't want your opinion and its not about the efficacy, its about approaching the patients and I don't have to go to USA as I know what I need to know and one more thing for your betterment, it's not always necessary to prove you are right and others are wrong, rather sometimes you have to understand what is the intent.

Mine is due to job stress.
If you or a family member was diagnosed with high blood pressure, did you and your physician talk about the possible causes of the high blood pressure, or did you just start taking medications without really asking questions?
Hi doctor Dr. Frita, if you’re 20 years old and diagnosed with high blood pressure, will it ever go away?
I think you're quite right: a number of people don't wonder where high blood pressure has come from. Thanks for the great points about the causes of secondary hypertension.
I most certainly was provided multiple blood pressure medications. Recently things have gotten better. My blood pressure has never been high for a month straight.
Good afternoon Dr. Frita, can you please do a video on hypothyroidism? I had a total thyroidectomy due to a hot nodule. At the time I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, after my surgery 10 years ago, I'm now hypothyroidism and taking levothyroxine.

Thanks for sharing this information. It's quite informative. I'm going to pass this message along to friends and family.
Can essential or primary hypertension be lowered naturally? I’m 52” 108 lbs , exercise every day, eat very healthy, zero processed packaged food, no health conditions, yet my systolic is consistently 130-133.
Try going on a low carb diet combined with intermittent fasting. Do a 6:18 or 8:16 eating window. That should bring it down to 120 or less.
Hope this helps 🙏

thanks for great information Doctor Frita god bless
Dr.frita,God bless you,thanks.
Amen thanks 🙏🏾 Dr. Frita
Dr Frita, where are located and are you taking new patients?
Love the video and yes found it to be very helpful.❣
Educational, so Blessed by Video ❤️!
Thanks you so much

Mine has just hit out of the blue. Two yrs ago I popped high at the Dr but then went back to normal. This past month I have been fighting sky high bp. I am not heavy extremely active this has just hit and hit hard. Bummer
I have a brain tumor and high blood pressure
Thank you Doctor for your good Advice gb
Thank you God bless baby mc Ali ❤️

Can menopause be a cause of hypertension for some women??
Sorry this happened to you
This has been happening to my S.O. also at 62 years old. Passed out for a few minutes 3 times this year. Doctors can't find a reason.
Wow! I never knew this . Thank you for this info. Wow!
