  • I recently had a Cummins Conversion done on a 1855 Oliver with a 5.9 Cummins. The new clutch didn't work correctly and was replaced by Maibach Tractor located in Seville, Ohio. After a discussion with Brad Maibach, I was informed on how to properly operate an Oliver tractor with hydra-power (over/under). I am explaining what I was told since he is an expert not only on Oliver's but also on the Cummins conversion. He also explained how to engage the PTO on the tractor as well. I found this information very informative and wanted to pass it along. I am glad I asked the question on "how to operate an Oliver tractor."

If Oliver tractors ever were in my part of the country it was limited........ In 77 years I have only seen 2 77 Olivers at a nearby Dairy Farm in the mid 50s and some new production Whites at a farmer-Dealer, Magnolia Lane Farms in the early 70s......

I am no mechanic or expert. I took mine to Maibach Tractor who specialize in Whites and Oliver's. They put a heavier duty clutch in mine. Contact them and see what they say. I am. Glad I finally took it in to get fixed. Should have took it there in the first place for the Cummins conversion. Talk to Brad Maibach. He may be able to help you. Just a thought.
