Yvonne over at Ginger Chicks Rehab always uses a hair dryer when removjng her stencil. The heat helps to release the glue making it less likely to peel the paint. Thanks for your videos. I've learned a lot and you do beautiful work.

No heat drying on chalk paint. Blow dry on cool only.

This hello sign wreath came out so pretty Charmon! I’m glad you were able to fix that paint problem with just going over with the brush and paint! Awesome job!💖💖

This turned out beautiful! I have experienced that crackle effect after painting on top of Mod Podge. I would say let it cure overnight before painting. Thanks for sharing! Love 💕 & hugs 🤗 God bless

Beautifully done! How you salvage the error with patients and talent is beyond words! I would have chuck it to the pile of 'do over later' bin I have. LOL! Since the time of this video production, have you figured out what was the cause? I'm guessing the paint wasn't fully dried, maybe? Ever so, this is a beautiful piece and I'm ready to see more videos from you! New subscriber here!

Hi. Having trouble getting my stencil to stick to the wood, tried temp, stencil and perm vinyl and nothing will stick to either the stained or painted portion. Any recommendations? Thanks

I wait 24 hours before putting anything on a painted surface (stencil or transfer tape). When I used mod podge my paint crackled too.

I tried mod podge and it was the worst experience, it lifted the paint from the board. From my research when you use mod podge you must use a very thin later or this will happen. Another thing i found was my stencil stuck to the board, it dries fast and you cant let it sit too long. I rather not use it at this point, but maybe with practice and patience it can work. Everyone has a method, and what works for them. By the way i love your choice in colors! Can't wait to try my second round, just made my first.

Nice job! What don’t did you use?

I've noticed on some surfaces when I mod podge first, the paint just peels off...it was actually the mod podge peeling as well. So I think it may be better to skip the mod podge for the stenciling part and to just go lighter with the paint for the stencil.

Help me! What's the point of the Mod Modge?!! Couldn't you just apply the paint directly to the board or does the stain do something??

My white paint did the same thing.

What do you use to hold your vinyl on your wall? Your door hanger is absolutely beautiful.

Thank you so much!! They are from IKEA. I believe they are the plastic grocery bag holders. 👍🏻😉

It crackled and peeled because your layers were too thick. You have to work in super thin layers of both modpodge and chalk paint. If each layer isn’t completely dry chalk paint will crack. Also chalk paint will crack if hot air is applied to the wood instead of cool air (not sure what your hair dryer was set on). But the hanger is beautiful! I make door hangers for my full time job so I’ve had some failures with chalk paint 😅😭

Thank you so much for all the tips. It really dumb founded me because I had never had this happen before. I will be sure to take your advise on the next one for sure. 👍🏻💕😉

Tiffany what do you do or use to not get bleeds through your vinyl with the chalk paint ? I keep getting bleeds and can’t seem to get the fine lines when I peel

Every time I have tried the Mod Podge on stencil my paint peels. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Same, not sure what happen on this project. Not sure if either my paint or the mod podge was old or what. I have found Polycrylic (sp?) seems to work on stained projects or the base color paint to work. 👍🏻👍🏻
