Jack kind of cheated on the octopus one, by jabbering on about it and then waving his arms like tentacles indicating that was his answer. The contestant even confirmed she saw that when giving her answer, "tentacles ,i think that's what he meant."
Good for Jane! She was one of the few winning contestants (that I've seen) who had enough sense to go to the other stairs to thank someone in the top right seat. Love the purple turtleneck, but the skirt is too busy.
I'm really DISAPPOINTED in Richard Dawson--- almost NEVER will clap as Gene comes out and was not very nice to Gene, even though when Family Feud makes him a star he's worse!!!!
@@JT-lt5gr I thought of that too. I have childhood memories of watching TV and always hearing, "We pause for station identification." I was surprised that it wasn't the $500 response.
Jane Brooks and Suzy G look like twins. Wonder how many times that has happened on the show. BTW: When I viewed the thumbnail, I originally thought: "How did Jane grow her hair so fast?"
Suzie misunderstood the question, so Gene gave her clarification about the meaning. I'm not sure whether there was any precedent for that in the episodes that had aired before it, but it doesn't seem entirely fair to let a contestant answer a question they didn't understand either.
as a people watcher you can learn a lot... the usual handsy gene rayburn doesn't even touch contestant jane, he offered her a handshake after everyone ran around hugging and kissing each other. glad to see she got a win, love seeing people win the big prize, especially teachers.
Gene keeps plugging the new Perry Mason (Sunday nights on CBS) with Brett Somers. According to IMDb , the show lasted only 15 weeks with Brett appearing as “Gertie” in just 4 episodes.
The whole premise is to MATCH the contestant, right? I think some of the “stars” are shooting for laughs and some are bad at it. That’s why they take so long to answer…they are trying to be clever and they aren’t. I still love it though.
ROFL! Another fine after dinner episode! :0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! ;O) ROFL! Love ya Bert! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Fannie! ;0) Love the early celebrations.. ;0) legs Floors Shoes Thank you Gene.. ;0)
And those of you who think Brett is jealous, she's not in high school, like you act. That's her schtic. They all know it. Your assumptions are ridiculous especially for someone who can't defend herself.
Why didn't they just call it the Brett Show.....she took every episode over with her big mouth. Hated listening to her on the show but I liked everyone else they ever had on it. And her laugh......Oh My God!!!!
Fannie was a celebrity on the old Match Game in the 1960s. Here, she's giving answers like she's still on the 60s version, not realizing that the 70s version is much racier!
This is only like her third appearance on this episode, she is just getting the hang of it on her first episode she was very confused about how exactly does it work.
I don't know about "Jane". The mannerisms she displays are odd and almost forced. Some have mentioned her odd attempts at coyness or diminutive bearing. Almost like she is performing as to appear feminine and has never been shown or seen how to do it. The timing and look of her smile is also odd. Tilts her head down to smile but looks up with her eyes. Kind of like the Joker in movies. Smiles at the wrong time as well. Almost like she is thinking of something humorous from within her own inner world and not the external one. She appears to be a nice person, but she is interesting.
fannie had dyslexia and didn't know it, she literally learned she had it when a teacher who watched this show recognized it and sent her a letter. fannie's written answers gave it away, the way she misspelled words and getting letters in the wrong order.
I was surprised by Jane's looks, but the more I watch her, the prettier I think she is. There is an elegance to her.
She is man trying to be a woman. I see no elegance. But more manly mannerism. However, she seems super sweet and very positive.
@@hollystiener16 Nonsense. She was just a woman who didn't slather on the makeup.
Jane has makeup on. It's a man watch the facial/body mannerisms and overkill on coyness. Build gives it away and skirts don't hide his 'junk'!
@@marlenegriffith2724 Wow. Just wow.
Me too. I think she just needed a more flattering hairdo.
Who knew there was such a fine line between impersonations of W.C. Fields and Paul Lynde?

I was surprised about station break winning. I never thought of that one. Station wagon is the only thing I thought of.
Station identification

Again the judges can't make up their minds about matching general/specific. They allowed chair and table to match furniture.
Um YEAAAAH what would match them with; electronics
Suzie should not have been able to change her answer!
Jane Brooks and Suzy G look like twins. Wonder how many times that has happened on the show.
BTW: When I viewed the thumbnail, I originally thought: "How did Jane grow her hair so fast?"
funny, thought the same thing, maybe a wig?
Wigs were popular in the 70s.
Why all the time the first answer must be taken but Susie gets to go twice?!! Gene stole that game from Jane big time.
Not been watching, not this season so far..
@Gorden Owens ... Definitely not fair to Jane
Was just coming here to post that. Jane got robbed, at least she left a winner.
I thought the rule was. We have to accept your first answer??

Another one of my favorite long dresses on Match Game, worn by Susie!
