When you were making the component in your design that held the amethyst bead on the wire, your pliers kept slipping. I encountered the same issue and saw another wire wrapper using a set of Beading Crimper Pliers to perform the same operation. I've started using those pliers for the process, and it's been very successful. I just wanted to share this idea with you.
