Thank you Video helped out big time. Looked like all of your washers were the same size. The washers I got for my 2500 hg had one that had a slightly smaller hole In the middle. That one goes in first. At first glance you wouldn’t even notice. Thought they sent me the wrong size but I took em out and compared em and realized. That one doesn’t fit over the 4 prongs. So for anyone with the same reel as me, hope you’re seeing this before you drive yourself crazy like I did 😂
My Vanford 3000 came with the Shimano carbon drag washers and it is hands down the worst drag system I've ever had after owning a Stradic FK and Stradic Ci4+. I just swapped them out for felt washers that I used to have in the Ci4+ and now it is perfectly butter-smooth and consistent. It was sticky, would slip, and completely inconsistent when I had the carbon washers... carbon isn't an upgrade unless you have a 4000 or 5000 reel and are fishing huge fish. They may be way more durable, but I'll take replacing them every couple of years any day over durable washers that don't grab consistently. My big question that I now have after watching a ton of videos on Carbontex is whether or not they are better than Shimano's factory carbon drag washers, because they do not use Carbontex.
Yeah; might have to agree. The carbontex may be more durable & last longer but the reel’s performance def isn’t as good as when I first started using my reels with the felt washers. I recently added a ton more grease and that seemed to help. May have to experiment with going back to brand new felt washers just to see. Thanks for the input!
I always uses felt washer on my 3000 and below shimano's.. I love how buttery smooth the drag slip compared to the carbontex.. With felt washer easy/smooth starting character it put less stress on the bail arm when hooking up the fish or the fish is making its final dive/run.
Those washers were so thin it was almost metal on metal 😂 shows you’ve caught a lot of fish. Let me know how it goes on the water! You should notice a way higher max drag as well with the new washers
These looks like they’ll fit yours. Look it over though www.ebay.com/itm/114139492547?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=CaXFH6fCRiu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=o1KewIwkSHe&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@VISUAL-LY yep those are them I got them ordered😎. I didn’t have the problem you had but I thought I might as well upgrade since those washers are so puny

Need to replace since you’re always slaying.
💯💯😂

Lol you should’ve seen my main reel. All of the washers basically were melted. I thought they were just old grease😅
Really? my shimano vanford 5000 comes with 24lbs drag. If i put these carbontex drag washer will it reach 30lbs drag?
@@jeffnaval4894 that feel probably already has carbon fiber drags
@@sebastianrothman6256 oh ok. Thanks.
The carbon washers are in the 4000 series and up usually wth shimano stradic
Thanks for the info!👍
Will this work on Stradic 2500shg???
I believe so. But not sure if the same drag washers or not. Might be different size but I don’t know.
@@VISUAL-LY actually I just found it for the 2500SHG I’m not sure about the size either that’s why I asked. Thanks though fish on

lol extremely puny. I recently had to add more grease. Should’ve put more while doing the video. So remember to be generous with the grease
You are working in bad light and quite hard to see clearly inside your reel. Get a light above you
