This was just a very simple morning in Marihatag, a small town in Surigao Del Sur, Mindanao. But I felt like it was important to share it, because it shows just how chilled out Mindanao can be. I miss the mornings in a Karenderya, especially during vacations. The scene always reminds me of my family whenever we go to Camiguin. After reaching the port, we would stop by one of the nearby Karenderyas and have a good, filipino, and local style breakfast along with a cup of 3in1 coffee. (I love my brewed by they don't have that in there).
Funny part is when you guys are already struggling in your seats with the motorcycle and then the lady from out of nowhere approched for a photo op. Dan must be going crazy at that time! You guys Rock!

Based on the areal drone photograph, you can tell when a properly planned little town looks nice from above or less chaotic compared to like smaller towns or neighborhoods in Cebu where so many streets have only one way in and the same way out. Those unplanned neighborhoods/towns look like an eyesore...even worse when on the ground.
Kyle, These are fun videos to watch and they do an awesome job to showcase the natural beauty of parts of Mindanao and the warm, friendly people who live there. I would respectfully suggest that you need to do a video that speaks more directly to the issues, both real and imagined, that are coincidental with travelling in this part of the Philippines. If you think about it, five big strapping young men travelling with a group of locals isn't going to be a typical travel experience for most people. It really would be good to detail specifically what you should be cautious about, and what you can do maximize a trip while minimizing risk. I'm not suggesting that your videos are glossing over or ignoring anything, but they really aren't giving the kind of information that most travellers can take advantage of. Is there a place or service you can use to register yourself to let officials know about where you are travelling? Should you avail yourself of embassy or consular services to ensure someone knows where you are going? Do you know of places where you should absolutely avoid? Thing like that I feel would be very helpful. I am married to a Cebuana, and she and her family would probably not go to Mindanao at all. This is based on the information that they have and the things they have heard and seen on the news channels. If you can't get Filipinos to travel in Mindanao, how do you get foreigners to feel and be safe there? You see what I'm getting at? Can you interview some officials or other relevant people to get some information? Just some food for thought. You are truly an ambassador for all of the Philippines IMO, but specifically for northern Mindanao right now. Keep travelling with the Fighter Boys™ and show us the sights and bring us along as you enjoy your adventure, but give us just that little bit more so that we would be best prepared for a trip to this region of the Philippines. Yes sir. I am living here in Davao City and it's part of Mindanao. Currently, Davao is safe to live and we highly recommended you to visit here. 🙂 Some parts of Mindanao were not safe because of the negative element (the people). As far as I know Sulu is not safe, because of Abu sayaf (the rebel group) and be cautious if you have a plan to visit here in Mindanao. But not entire Mindanao are dangerous to travel and that can be proven by Kulas by traveling around in Mindanao. 🙂
The drop pin for Marinara in Google maps shoes it being inland a bit. That's why I couldn't find the island just 5 minutes off shore that you guys went to.
