Songs are considered ubiquitous to street theatre. What kind of songs to use? Old tunes, popular film tunes, folk styles? Safdar Hashmi talks about “Use of songs in street theatre”. In early1988 he had attended a Theatre Conference in Lahore. Five theatre practitioners were invited from India - Badal Sircar, Rati Bartholomew, Anuradha Kapoor, Maya Rao and Safdar.
