GENE TRACY: "Truck Stop #1": A Truck Stop Is The Best Place To Eat

  • Gene Tracy's Truck Stop #1: "A Truck Stop Is The Best Place To Eat" (1974).
The legend begins here, with loads of classic--and filthy!!!--jokes, including "Hurricane Gussy", "Cup Of Coffee And P.I.S.S.", "Full Of Ice Cream", and the legendary "Piccolo Player" joke.
Taken from an 8-Track cartridge, doubtless the way you first heard it (hence the occasional hiss, defects and "cross-talk").
I do not claim any ownership or copyright on the recording or material. Fair Use Act, 1976.

I'll keep an eye out for you Sonny!!!!!!!!!! Started listening to Gene on 8 Track when I was 15 in 1971. I now have over 30 Truckstop CDs. Been telling his jokes all my life. People tell me I should be a comedian. RIP Gene, you put the laghter in my life.

Sorry about your dad, man. Your post is two years old, I hope all is well. I remember coming across an 8-track my uncle had. He passed away and in 2003 at 50. Funny how I come around to remembering Gene Tracy after I forgot his name but could remember truck stop:
My brother emailed me (in December) about Cheech and Chong's Santa and His Old Lady and was bit surprised it was released in '71. Then I told about the time we were listening to Richard Pryor in another uncle's truck. That's what got me started. My uncle that passed away in 2003 was a truck driver.

I grew up around trucking in the 70's. My dad was an owner operator, leased to Carolina Western. It was before Pilot's or Flying J's. Lots of mom & pop truckstops had bars that only opened at night. Or they'd be nearby and Gene would tour around to them. I'd go back to school & tell my friends these jokes. Pampered kids that'd never heard a filthy joke in their life. But would nearly be rolling on the floor. I miss the old days of trucking though.

I grew up listening to truck stop number 11 by the time I was a junior high I could speak it fluently with accent I haven't heard any Gene Tracy in years and I've never heard hurricane Gussy. I about fell out of my chair I'm so glad for TH-cam because I don't think there's any way you could find these on a track or dvd CD I don't think this stuff's in print anymore but I'm so thankful and share this share it because comedy is not the same is it used to be. It's some fucked-up Twisted shit just like me and I love it

In 1974, when I was 13, my mother was remarried to a wild-assed trucker who would occasionally take me along on short runs. While he flirted with the truck stop waitresses, I'd roam the trucker's store checking out all the CB gadgets and related trucker stuff and remember well seeing the Gene Tracy 8-Track bootlegs. My stepdad had most of the releases but this one really stands out in my memory. Recall listening while kicking back in the sleeper bunk and checking out the adult magazines that I discovered under the mattress.
