Thanks for sharing, do your fish show the same amount of interest once you store the food in your freezer for a couple of months as compared to a week or two?
That is a very good point. We recently had a 22 hour power outage. A batch of food was slightly thawed in the freezer and when the power came back, it refreezed. Fish didn’t like that at all. I made a new batch and they went crazy for that.
Hi Sumer , Awesome video as usual......I was scared to use Gilatin as i thought it may cause constipation .Whats ur thoughts on that ? I used Egg white as binder ..
You need more binder ... You increase your amount of shrimp ... You can also try to add egg whites also as binder ... Adding Gelatin is always an option, but then its better to add binder, which has food value as well
When the food paste is ready, I prepare gelatin in a separate bowl. Then mix the gelatin with the food paste. Be fast. And as soon as you have mixed the paste and gelatin, pack the food in ziplock bags.
I wish I could’ve filmed that part. But anyway, I heat up half a cup of water and mix gelatin in it. Then before it starts to solidify, I put it in the food and mix the whole thing vigorously. And then pack.
Of course gelatin is a protein and, unlike by humans, is almost certainly digestible by most fish therefore making it a worthy ingredient in fish food. However, freezing gelatin completely destroys its ability to "gel" therefore ruining it's ability to bind anything. You can prove this to yourself by making a Jello/jelly/gelatin dessert as you normally would for people to eat and then freezing it. Taken from the freezer and thawed you will find a fully liquid mess. Unfortunately, the same holds true for agar agar. If looking for a more Repashy-like product you might try making and freezing the mixture without gelatin. Then when partially thawed, adding that portion to some previously "bloomed" gelatin and briefly refrigerating the portion in order to set the gel, immediately before feeding.
The ingredients are absolutely top-notch!

Did you add gelatin powder in your food while mixing or some other way. Please explain how you add gelatin.

@@Piscinarius thanks so much for sharing. how many packs of gelatin did you use? Only one?
@@jongminlee716 In this recipe I used 3 packets. But I feel that I need to use more- maybe 5 for this much food.

If you cook it with agar, you get a really good jelly
