I was wondering: the wood for the fire was available at the shelter, right? Who maintains that? Who keeps the woodpile stocked? I ask because when on holidays, when we find firewood at a cabin of shelter, I feel reluctant to use the wood, as if I’m not entitled to it so to speak. What’s the “etiquette”?

Thanks brother! Really good question, in this case the city maintains the shelters and fill them up with firewood, it’s not filled at all times and it depends on where you are, there’s not really a system to it as far as I know. When it comes to etiquette we don’t use more than we need, we leave the shelter as we found it or better. If there’s firewood to be found near the shelter I usually use that! In this specific case we were short on time so I took what was available to us! Thanks for watching!
Hey Ted! For me this video wasn't really about the thermo container. It was about you dropping some good old words of wisdom :-) Indeed being out in the nature is a blessing although without experience it can also be quite difficult at times. Therefore I definitely agree with what you said about packing light(er) whenever possible. Also awesome seeing Albert again. It shows how he's grown up in the meantime. It always fascinates me how much progress children make in very short time. It reminds me of my friend's daughter. We see each other every few months since he's been living abroad and I remember once leaving their house with her barely speaking. When I came back after a few months later she was speaking fluently. It was amazing to see. When you are with the kid all the time you don't experience it this way, but it's nonetheless very fascinating. Also yet again the short B-roll with the fire and music felt great albeit little short :-D

Nice vid Ted. I loved seeing those shelters everywhere when I was in Sweden. In the UK lighting a fire anywhere outdoors is a real pain! Not allowed anywhere. Lunch looked tasty 😋
Ps. Do you use your EcoShell as your main jacket for this time of year? Have recently got one and plan on taking it on some winter hikes in the coming months obviously as a shell not insulation, but just pleased to see people not just wearing them in the rain. 👌🏻
Thanks man, yeah these shelters are all over the place here, this one even had some dry firewood, pure luxury! Yeah, the ecoshell is definitely my main jacket this time of year, depending on what I’m doing I might go with the Greenland jacket too, but for the outdoors I go eco shell! It’s a great jacket! Of course, as you mention, you get some layers or a fleece depending on the situation! Thanks for watching! :)
