Gambino's iconic neon sign is back up

The sign was broken during Hurricane Ida but with the bakery's 75th anniversary, they set out to light it up again.

I miss our New Orleans bakeries. Where I live now, there are NO good bakeries-none whatsoever. I now know what we had in New Orleans was special.

I remember when I was growing up in the area when Mardi Gras or my birthday came around, if the cake wasn't coming from McKenzie's, it was coming from Gambino's.
